IT Home reported on August 23 that IT Home learned from the State Administration for Market Regulation that Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. have filed a recall plan with the State Administration for Market Regulation in accordance with the requirements of the "Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products" and the "Implementation Measures for the Regulations on the Management of Recall of Defective Automobile Products".

Starting from September 27, 2024, a total of 4,000 imported C-Class, CLS, E-Class and AMG GT vehicles with production dates between July 25, 2019 and March 20, 2023 will be recalled; a total of 160 domestically produced C-Class and E-Class vehicles with production dates between September 20, 2019 and August 14, 2021 will be recalled.

Some vehicles within the scope of this recall have incorrect communication modules installed, which cannot accurately calculate the vehicle's location. When an emergency call is triggered, the vehicle's location sent to the Mercedes-Benz emergency call center may be deviated, resulting in delayed rescue in the event of an accident, posing a safety hazard.

Mercedes-Benz (China) Automobile Sales Co., Ltd. and Beijing Benz Automotive Co., Ltd. will replace the communication modules for vehicles within the recall scope free of charge through Mercedes-Benz authorized dealers to eliminate safety hazards.
