Original title: Beijing's self-developed full-size humanoid robot "Tiangong 1.2 MAX" debuts: the world's first pure electric-driven anthropomorphic running robot with voice interaction and grasping capabilities

IT Home reported on August 23 that at the 2024 World Robot Conference held from August 21 to 25, the "Tiangong" robot independently developed by the Beijing Embodied Intelligent Robot Innovation Center made its debut at the exhibition.

The robot made its debut in April this year. It is 163 cm tall and weighs 43 kg. It can run steadily at a speed of 6 km/h, making it the world's first pure electric-driven full-size humanoid robot to run in an anthropomorphic manner.

After 4 months, "Tiangong" was upgraded again. The predictive reinforcement imitation learning method based on state memory not only has more action varieties, but also has mastered the ability of voice interaction capture with the support of the embodied intelligence large model.

In addition, the Tiangong robot has been upgraded to version 1.2 MAX, with a height of 173cm, a weight of 60kg, and an overall larger shape.

According to Zhang Qiang, a humanoid robot algorithm expert at the Innovation Center, "When a person gives a voice command, the embodied intelligent robot can complete a set of grasping and releasing actions based on the 'open vocabulary object detection and arbitrary object segmentation multimodal model'. At present, we have opened up the embodied intelligence large model link, which means that the robot can understand human commands, disassemble related tasks and complete these tasks. In the future, robots will be able to help humans do more things."

Zhang Qiang also revealed: "We are committed to the research and development of key technologies for embodied intelligent robots and the construction of an ecosystem. We have already landed in Beijing Yizhuang. Through the two major projects of 'Tiangong' and 'Kaiwu', we will promote technological innovation and industrial development and lead the industry to solve common problems."

IT Home noted that the embodied intelligent service robot "Tianyi" launched at the same time is 163cm tall, weighs 72.5kg, has 16 degrees of freedom, has wheeled omnidirectional mobility, and its legs have lifting functions. It can intelligently adapt to the height and status of the service recipients, and with complete arms and a large screen on the chest, it can achieve positioning navigation, smooth movement, natural conversation and precise arm operation. It can be used in a variety of scenarios such as reception, guided tours, consultation and question-and-answer sessions, venue introductions, dance performances, etc.
