The 2024 Shanghai City Street 2V2 Gemini Basketball Tournament Finals came to a successful conclusion last weekend at the crowded plaza outside Century Plaza on Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, China's No. 1 commercial street.
The Shanghai City Street 2V2 Gemini Basketball Tournament is a trendy event initiated by the Huangpu Sports Bureau for the first time in Shanghai in 2023 and jointly executed by Rock Basketball. Based on last year's successful hosting, in order to better promote it to the whole city, bring more intense competition and attract more basketball enthusiasts to participate, this year's event was jointly organized by Putuo District and Jiading District. After the auditions were held in the three districts respectively, the finals came to Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street. The larger scale of participation and more participants also brought more intense competition.
The Shanghai City Street 2V2 Gemini Basketball Tournament, as a brand event that is focused on by the "Huangpu I Come to the Tournament" Star Series, will involve more districts in the future to participate in the event. While promoting new forms of basketball activities and enriching the basketball system, it will actively explore new models of regional joint hosting of events, give full play to the derivative effects of the events, promote the integrated development of commerce, travel, culture, sports and exhibitions, and add highlights to street sports activities in the bustling city of Shanghai.
Huangpu District Sports Bureau Deputy Director Pan Minhong, Jiading District Sports Bureau Deputy Director Xu Kui, and Putuo District Sports Bureau Deputy Director Tang Guoping attended the closing ceremony of the finals and presented awards to the winning teams.
