According to reports, the Ukrainian special forces posted on social media that day, "Where did the Russian pontoon bridges in the Kursk region 'disappear'? Our operators... accurately destroyed them."

The statement also said that the attack used U.S.-made HIMARS rockets, the first time Kiev has officially said that Western weapons were used in a cross-border attack.

At present, the United States has not made a direct comment on the Ukrainian army's use of American weapons in the Kursk region. But it said that the US policy has not changed and Ukraine "is protecting itself from Russian attacks."
