On the morning of August 21, Shanghai Municipal Party Committee Secretary Chen Jining made a statement at the feedback meeting of the Central Ecological and Environmental Protection Inspection Team No. 1 on its inspection of Shanghai, pointing out that we must thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought, and in accordance with the major arrangements of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee on deepening the reform of the ecological civilization system, further enhance the political awareness of strengthening ecological environmental protection, go all out, strictly and practically carry out all inspection and rectification work, complete the rectification tasks without fail, accelerate the transformation and application of rectification results, and promote Shanghai's ecological civilization construction to a new level.
Chen Jining said that in order to thoroughly implement Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought and in accordance with the decisions and arrangements of the Party Central Committee and the State Council, the Central Ecological and Environmental Protection Inspection Team No. 1, with a strong political sense of responsibility, has diagnosed, scanned and comprehensively examined Shanghai's ecological and environmental protection work. While affirming Shanghai's achievements, it has objectively and accurately pointed out the outstanding problems and put forward highly targeted and guiding rectification requirements and suggestions, which have deeply touched us and made us feel alert. Chen Jining pointed out that since the 18th CPC National Congress, General Secretary Xi Jinping and the CPC Central Committee have regarded ecological civilization construction as a fundamental plan related to the sustainable development of the Chinese nation, and have promoted historic, turning point and overall changes in ecological civilization construction. Increase the intensity of strict supervision and law enforcement, strengthen the connection between execution and discipline, make good use of public interest litigation, and form a strong deterrent. We must establish a performance concept that benefits the people, implement the concept of ecological benefits to the people in specific work, and implement the specific demands of the masses for ecological and environmental protection. We must respond to demands at the first time, handle them immediately, do a good job in tracking and asking for results, and dare to be serious. Persevere in doing a good job in "key small things", optimize the classification of domestic waste throughout the process, and continue to deepen the "Clear Plate Action". Chen Jining stressed that it is necessary to strengthen the implementation of the responsibility for supervision and rectification, adhere to the principle of shared responsibility between the Party and the government, and dual responsibility for one post, and clarify the responsible units, goals, time limits and measures in a list-based manner, so as to achieve rectification, acceptance and cancellation of each item.
