On August 18, after three rounds of intense competition, the domestic qualifiers for the 2024 World Youth Sudoku Championship determined the rankings of each group. Weifang Sudoku player Zhu Songyu was shortlisted for Team A of the U18 official team and will represent China in the 2024 World Youth Sudoku Championship to be held in Beijing in October.

The 2024 World Youth Sudoku Championship will be held in Pinggu District, Beijing from October 10 to 13. Entrusted by the organizing committee of this World Sudoku Championship, the Beijing Sudoku Sports Association selected and formed an official team to participate in the competition through trials. In the domestic trials held on August 18, Zhu Songyu, a Sudoku player from Weifang, finally ranked third in the U18 group. According to the regulations of the 2024 World Youth Sudoku Championship, according to the results of this trial, the first to third players in each group will form the Sudoku Youth Official Team A of each group to participate in the 2024 World Youth Sudoku Championship. It is understood that there are five groups in this trial, namely U8, U10, U12, U15 and U18.

Zhu Songyu, 18, has just finished the college entrance examination. Earlier this month, he participated in the "Weifang Bank" 2024 National Youth Sudoku Championship held in Weifang and won the U18 Group City Friendly Tournament Championship. Zhu Songyu told reporters that he has been learning Sudoku for nine years and loves it very much.
In recent years, Zhu Songyu has participated in many national and world-class Sudoku competitions, and won the U12 National Youth Championship, the U15 Asian Sudoku Championship individual and team championships, and the U18 National Team Championship. With his outstanding performance in the National Youth Sudoku Championship, Zhu Songyu was successfully selected for the Sudoku National Youth Team.
