In response to the expectations of the people in Lingang New Area for quality education, the Shanghai Dishui Lake School (under preparation) officially started construction in March this year. This high-quality school, which is oriented towards the future, has a high starting point and will directly compete with Shanghai High School and the Second Affiliated High School of East China Normal University.

Shanghai Dishuihu School is a 12-year public school jointly organized by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the Pudong New Area People's Government, and the Lingang New Area Management Committee. On September 3 last year, the Lingang Fengxian Branch of the Second Affiliated High School of East China Normal University was officially completed and opened. The Lingang Fengxian Branch of the Second Affiliated High School of East China Normal University is a public experimental and exemplary high school in Shanghai jointly built by the Lingang New Area Management Committee, the Municipal Education Commission, the Fengxian District People's Government, and East China Normal University.

The school is a key project for optimizing the layout of educational resources in the Lingang New Area. It will give full play to the demonstration and radiation role of the Second Affiliated High School of East China Normal University, help improve the quality of education in the Lingang New Area, and provide strong support for the high-quality development, high-quality life, and high-efficiency governance of the Lingang New Area.

Fang Juan revealed that Lingang New Area has signed strategic agreements with Shanghai Jiaotong University, East China Normal University, Shanghai Normal University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, Shanghai Conservatory of Music and other universities to jointly build a number of high-quality basic education schools. With the strong support of the New District Education Bureau, 14 basic education schools in the Lingang New Area have been included in the opening plan in September 2024.

In order to serve the personalized and diversified educational needs of the children of talented people, the Shanghai High School International Department was opened in Lingang, and the construction of the Shanghai Lingang YCIS Independent Legal Entity School for Children of Foreign Nationals (tentative name) will be accelerated to start within the year.

At present, there are 63 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens (including campuses) in Lingang New Area, with 3,100 teachers and 34,000 students. The group-running rate of compulsory education in Lingang New Area has reached 100%.
