On August 16, the WeChat public account "Zhenguan" published an article titled "A girl from another province died in my rented apartment". The authenticity of the relevant description was questioned, and the location of the incident was pointed to Xi'an, Shaanxi. On the 19th, the account issued a statement saying that the article had been factually reviewed and the case occurred in counties and cities around Xi'an. Jimu News reporters verified from multiple sources that the incident occurred in Qindu District, Xianyang City. The main person in charge of Qindu District responded to the reporter that this incident did happen, and homicide had been ruled out. The family members did not allow an autopsy.

"Zhenguan" wrote in the above article that the deceased girl was born in 1991, from a mountainous area in Xihaigu, Ningxia, graduated from a 211 university, was an accountant, and was looking for a job in Xi'an at the time. After graduation, the girl took the civil service exam and repeatedly won the first place in the written exam for public institutions in her hometown province, but failed the interview again and again. In April this year, the girl rented a 50-square-meter apartment from the author of the above article "Zhenguan", with a rent of more than 10,000 yuan for half a year. In June this year, the girl had no contact with the outside world for many days, and was later found dead in the rental house for many days. The police have intervened.

After the article was published, it attracted widespread attention and the authenticity of the relevant descriptions in the article was questioned. On August 18, "Zhenguan" deleted the above article.

On the afternoon of the 19th, a reporter from Jimu News contacted relevant personnel from the "Zhenguan" operator to verify the authenticity of the matter. The other party said: "It is inconvenient to accept an interview, please understand." On the same day, "Zhenguan" issued a statement on the situation, saying that the article was contributed by the author and had undergone a factual review; the crime scene was not in Xi'an, but in surrounding cities and counties; out of respect for the deceased, protection of the author, avoidance of distorted interpretation and excessive speculation, etc., the article was removed from the shelves and deleted on the 18th.
