After experiencing the de-living roomization, I found that it is not as good as I imagined. Do you know why?

In the traditional living room, there is a "center", which is the TV (or a projector or other equipment can be used instead of the TV, hereinafter referred to as "TV"). But in the past two years, the layout of the living room has emerged. It is called "decentralized living room" or "de-living roomization".

To put it bluntly, it means not installing a TV, or placing the TV in a corner (most people choose not to install it).

This design is very attractive to young people. It is said to enhance people's affection in the space and increase the time spent reading and studying rather than just watching TV in the living room. But is it really that good to use?

After our experience, we found four problems. Let's talk about them together. If you are planning to use this layout, you might as well check whether you can accept it first, so as to avoid regrets later.

Keep the sofa to ensure the utilization of the living room

People always think that the living room is an important room, one of the reasons is that we spend more time in the living room. But if there is no TV in the living room, or no central heating, and it becomes a study room, will we still stay in the living room for a long time?

Most people don't. Imagine that we can turn two hours of watching TV into two hours of reading. In fact, two hours become us lying in bed playing games. Self-disciplined people can learn under any conditions. Undisciplined people will not read even if they move to the library.

Therefore, the least recommended solution is to turn the living room into a study.

It's not just the TV, but also the sofa. Filling the living room with bookshelves and tables will only reduce the utilization rate of the living room and turn it into an empty and useless room. Even if you walk to the center of the living room, it is recommended to keep the sofa, at least to retain the leisure and entertainment attributes of the living room.

Imagined scenarios rarely happen.

A major selling point of the “de-living room” layout is that it can enhance the relationship between family members. The chairs in this type of living room are generally surround style, that is, the table (coffee table) is surrounded by chairs so that people can talk face to face, instead of the whole family facing the TV like in a traditional living room.

But in reality, this rarely happens. At first, it's a family matter, and there's not much to talk about. Even if we want to talk, we can do it at the dinner table or in bed.

Second, there are few opportunities to talk with friends or at home, and young people nowadays are less and less willing to visit each other's homes.

From my experience, the only advantage of this round chair is that no matter which sofa you sit on, you can put your feet on the coffee table, which makes it more comfortable. When you are in love, I don't think sitting face to face will increase the relationship. If you really want to increase the relationship, you should sit side by side with her and let her lie on your lap.

The corridor-style living room experience is not good

Unfortunately, I have experienced a corridor-style living room. What is a corridor-style living room? There are different rooms on both sides of the living room, such as the dining room on this side of the living room and the balcony on the other side. From the dining room to the balcony, you have to pass through the living room, so the living room is corridor-style.

The so-called“Decentralization”, is actually to go to the TV center. In a real living room, there is still a central coffee table, which is usually the center.

If we put the coffee table on the coffee table, we need to surround it. In this way, it will be more troublesome to walk through the living room or walk into the living room to sit on the chair, and we may even need to move the seat.

The functions of television cannot be completely replaced.

Although many people think that smartphones can replace TVs. However, to get a better viewing experience, you still need a TV (or a projector or similar device). And the best way to watch TV is to focus on it. After all, no one wants to twist their neck to watch the next two-hour movie.

Therefore, if you like watching big screens and pursue higher standards in this regard, you should honestly choose the traditional living room layout. Watching TV can also be a way of learning. The key is what to watch and who to watch with.

Secondly, even if you really don't put the TV in the living room, try to stay at home and watch TV or something like that (projector, etc.). It can be placed in the bedroom, study, dining room, etc. Don't really abandon it.
