A survey shows that most potential upgraders will find price to be an important factor in their choice of iPhone 16, and the launch of the Apple Intelligence system is almost as important. With the iPhone 16 series set to be launched in a few weeks, potential buyers of the new phone have to consider which model they should buy. Now, a survey shows that many consumers are definitely turning to the new model.
The SellCell survey asked more than 2,000 users about their views and purchase intentions on the iPhone 16. About 61.9% said they would upgrade to the new model.
In terms of factors that encourage consumers to upgrade, 30.9% said that Apple's pricing for the iPhone 16 is their biggest concern. In second place is heat management, with 26.8% hoping that Apple can keep their iPhones from heating up and minimize throttling.

Apple Intelligence ranked third, with 21.6% of consumers wanting to see more unique AI features. Fourth was a faster A-series chip, accounting for 21.5%; and fifth was a larger screen size.
Sixth and seventh place went to external buttons. 19% wanted to see an "action" button on all iPhone 16 models, and 17.7% were keen to see the rumored "capture" button.
Size matters
In another survey, respondents were asked about the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, which are likely to have taller and wider displays.
About 54.9% of the respondents said they wanted a bigger iPhone. A total of 33% of the respondents disagreed, believing that iPhones were getting bigger and bigger and consumers couldn't afford them.

In the survey, a small number of people (12.1%) hope to return to the era of mini iPhone and hope that a new compact version will be launched.
If we further break down the responses by male and female, males are more willing to use a larger iPhone than females, with a ratio of 62.1% to 47.8%. However, 41.5% of females think that iPhones are getting bigger, while the proportion of males is 24.4%.
Thanks to the introduction of Apple's Intelligence system, and the realization that most features won't be available at launch, consumers are still willing to wait for them to arrive.
When asked if they were willing to wait an extra month to get the AI features on the iPhone 16, 82.1% agreed to wait. Only 17.9% thought that the AI features should be launched with the iPhone 16 in September.
