This competition has two groups, men's and women's, with one male and one female best technical award. The men's group has 8 events from under 54 kg to over 80 kg, and the women's group has 8 events from under 46 kg to over 67 kg. The National Taekwondo Championship Series adopts a tournament system, with sub-station competitions and finals. The 2024 National Taekwondo Championship Series is divided into four stations, held in Xuchang, Wenzhou, Taiyuan and Xi'an respectively. This station competition implements the latest "World Taekwondo Federation Competition Rules (Competition)" and the "China Taekwondo Association Competition Points Ranking Regulations", adopts a three-game best-of-three system, and the competition system is a single-elimination system. The competition adopts a computer draw method, and 4 levels of competition will be held every day during the 4-day schedule. The list of participants at each level will be checked the day before the draw.

In recent years, the performance of Shanxi Taekwondo has continued to rise. The Shanxi Taekwondo Team has become a strong team in the country, and has received good news frequently in national and international competitions. In the first two stops of the 2024 National Taekwondo Championship Series, Tang Hao, Li Yupeng, and Xing Jiani won the championships in their respective events, and Liang Wenli, Zhang Yuzi, Sang Yiyao, Zhang Caorui and other athletes also stood on the podium. In this station, 45 athletes from Shanxi participated in 14 levels of competition. Tang Hao, the champion of the Tokyo Olympic Taekwondo Mixed Team Exhibition, participated in the men's under 87 kg competition. Xiao Shunan, the champion of the Paris Olympic Taekwondo Mixed Team Exhibition, and Zhou Zeqi, a participant in the Paris Olympic Games, took the field again and fought for good results in the women's under 67 kg competition.
