24 athletes from Hebei will compete in the Paris Paralympics

Hebei Daily (Reporter Yang Mingjing) The 17th Summer Paralympic Games will be held in Paris, France from August 28 to September 8. On August 16, the Chinese Sports Delegation for the Paris Paralympic Games was established in Beijing and the list of delegation members was announced. Among the 284 athletes in the delegation, 24 athletes are from our province, and the number of participants exceeds that of previous sessions.

The Paris Paralympic Games will have 22 major events and 549 minor events, and 4,400 athletes from about 160 countries and regions will participate. The Chinese sports delegation will have a total of 516 people, including 284 athletes (including 126 male athletes and 158 female athletes), who will participate in 302 minor events in 19 major events such as archery, track and field, badminton, weightlifting, shooting, and swimming.

There are 24 athletes from our province, the oldest is 38 years old and the youngest is 20 years old. Among them, 12 athletes are champions of previous Paralympic Games and 6 athletes are participating in the Paralympic Games for the first time. They will participate in 55 events in 7 major events, including track and field, table tennis, badminton, weightlifting, shooting, swimming and tennis.

It is understood that athletes from our province are currently training at national training bases in the province and in Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu, Sichuan and other places. They will gather in Beijing on August 18 and go to Paris to compete on August 21.
