Win Ya, the lawyer of former Prime Minister Thaksin, later confirmed that Thaksin, who is currently on parole, is among the pardoned.
"Thaksin is one of those who have been pardoned in accordance with Article 3 and Article 6, paragraph 3 listed in the decree." Win Ya said on his personal social media account that according to relevant procedures, Thaksin will receive a release certificate from the prison.
According to multiple Thai media reports, the caretaker Minister of Justice Thawit confirmed the news that Thaksin's sentence, which was originally scheduled to end at the end of this month, will end early. According to Thawit's initial understanding, the pardon involves about 30,000 people.
