Hohhot, August 16 (Xinhua) -- A TIR international truck train with a Russian license slowly drove out of the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region on August 16 and headed for Moscow, Russia. This marks the official opening of the TIR international truck train transportation line in the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone.

TIR, or the Convention for International Road Transport, is a global customs facilitation system in the field of international cross-border cargo transportation based on the United Nations Convention. This TIR international truck train first came from Moscow, fully loaded with Russian goods, entered the country through the Erenhot Port, and delivered the goods to various places along the way before arriving at the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone. Afterwards, the goods shipped from Shanghai and Guangzhou were collected and loaded in the Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone, and customs declaration was completed before being transported out of the country by this TIR international truck train.
The outbound goods this time are electronic products such as laptops and computer accessories, with a total value of about RMB 13.4 million. The train departs from the Erenhot port, passes through Mongolia, and arrives in Moscow in about 7 days, with a one-way distance of about 7,300 kilometers.

Batubayar, deputy director of the Management Committee of Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone, introduced that the TIR international truck train has few restrictions on the types of goods, and can be dispatched immediately regardless of the total amount of a single freight; the entire truck is transported in one order and goes directly to the destination, which greatly improves the efficiency of cargo transportation; there is no need to change vehicles in the middle, and no taxes and deposits are required. In addition, during the customs clearance process, the TIR certificate information is verified and the customs seals of the vehicle are checked to be correct, so there is no need to unpack and inspect; TIR international truck train transportation can realize return business, forming a complete round-trip transportation mode.
Officials of Hohhot Comprehensive Bonded Zone said that in the next step, the bonded zone will complement TIR international truck train transportation with traditional road transportation, gradually build a road transportation logistics cargo distribution center open to the north in Inner Mongolia and even North China, and at the same time, unlock more TIR international truck train multimodal transportation combined with road transportation and other transportation modes, and accelerate the interconnection between Hohhot and the international market.
