Xinhua News Agency, Bangkok, August 17 (Reporter Gao Bo and Chen Qianci) Huawei Cloud recently held the 2024 Thailand Huawei Cloud Summit with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand. At the summit, the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society of Thailand encouraged all sectors to seize the opportunities of digital economic development and work with Huawei Cloud to accelerate the "cloud first" strategy.
Thailand’s “cloud first” strategy aims to drive the country’s digital transformation, using cloud technology to improve government efficiency, support large enterprise development and regional customer service.
It is reported that Huawei Cloud currently has partners in more than 15 industries in Thailand and has launched more than 100 cloud services. Zeng Xingyun, President of Huawei Cloud Asia Pacific, said that Huawei Cloud and Thai government departments have jointly built a national government cloud platform, which has helped Siam Commercial Bank, a leading commercial bank in Thailand, to launch end-to-end services in the financial industry, and also helped the digital development of Thailand's retail and other industries.
During the summit, Huawei Cloud also reached a cooperation intention with Chulalongkorn University in Thailand to jointly develop artificial intelligence courses to help cultivate technical talents. It is estimated that Thailand will have a shortage of about 500,000 digital talents by 2030. The Huawei ASEAN Academy (Thailand), which was established in recent years, has benefited 96,200 people through training programs, including practitioners in the field of information and communication technology, cloud and artificial intelligence developers, etc.
