Nanping, Fujian, August 17 (China News Service) (Zhang Chenyu, Zhang Yuliang, Wu Shuanglei) At dawn, the new recruits were ready to go, wearing camouflage uniforms, shouldering the sacred mission of defending the country, and embarked on the journey to Zhangshantou with full respect. Although the mountain road was rugged, their steps were extremely firm, and every step they took showed their respect for the revolutionary predecessors and their firm belief in the future.
As the altitude gradually rises, red ribbons all over the mountain come into view, like the flags of revolutionary martyrs fluttering in the wind.
In front of the tombstone of the unknown Red Army soldier, the solemn ceremony of paying respect slowly began. The recruits stood in silence, paying their deepest condolences and highest respects to the heroes who rest here. Amid the low mourning music, the weight of history and the responsibility of contemporary soldiers intertwined in the hearts of the recruits, inspiring their strong sense of mission and patriotism.
Afterwards, Yang Xuewen, Party Secretary of Zhangshantou Village, and Chen Yiwei, the red interpreter of the detachment, affectionately told the new recruits the red stories of this land. Those heroic sacrifices and heroic deeds nourished the hearts of the new recruits like a spring, and inspired them to stay true to their original aspirations and forge ahead in the journey of the new era.
"Although they are nameless, they will be recorded in history forever; three blue bricks, a number and a red ribbon record their immortal contributions." In the red education class, the new recruits expressed that they would learn the spirit of the martyrs, stay grounded in their posts, work hard to improve their skills and contribute their own strength to achieving the goal of building a strong military.
"Today, I stand in front of the martyrs' tomb and vow to become a good soldier and truly shoulder the heavy responsibility of defending my country!" The oath of the new recruit Wu Yuwei resounded through the valley, and a heated discussion on the "new era struggle concept" ensued.
Chen Yiwei, a red interpreter from the detachment, took the lead in speaking, sharing his military experience and encouraging the recruits to stay grounded in their posts, practice hard, and work tirelessly to achieve the goal of a strong army. The squad leader and the recruit representatives also spoke one after another, expressing their understanding and pursuit of the spirit of struggle in the new era.
On the day of the event, officers and soldiers of the Nanping Detachment of the Armed Police Force also went to Zhangshantou Village to discuss the close relationship between the military and the people with the villagers.
Since 2016, the officers and soldiers of the detachment have taken on the important task of guarding 1,343 unknown tombs of Red Army martyrs and have established a deep friendship with the villagers. The villagers have long regarded the officers and soldiers as their relatives and warmly welcomed their arrival. Villager Zhang Qianying even held the hand of military doctor Liu Xiaoli to express her gratitude. The officers and soldiers returned the villagers' love through practical actions such as medical rounds, haircuts, and cleaning the courtyard. The warm scenes show the deep friendship of the unity between the army and the people in the new era.
The head of the detachment said that this visit not only made the recruits deeply feel the sense of responsibility and honor as the people's soldiers, but also made them more confident and determined to devote themselves to the cause of strengthening the army. (End)
