Since the summer vacation, cities such as Dongxing and Pingxiang, located on the China-Vietnam border in Guangxi, have welcomed the peak season for inbound Vietnamese tourists. In the Dongxing National Gate Scenic Area, coffee shops, snack bars, and department stores are crowded with people; in front of the Pingxiang Friendship Pass, many inbound and outbound tourists dragging suitcases can't wait to take photos with the gate tower.
Duan Shiheng, a tourist from Lang Son Province, Vietnam, on the China-Vietnam border, entered the country from Pingxiang Youyiguan Port. After a quick customs clearance with her entry-exit pass, she embarked on a cross-border "one-day tour" in Pingxiang. She not only tasted Chinese milk tea, hot pot and other delicacies, but also went to the pedestrian street to buy some clothes. "Some government window units have staff who can speak Vietnamese, and the language spoken by the shop owners is very similar to ours, which feels very cordial." Duan Shiheng said.
"In order to welcome the 'summer season', we have specially added more than 10 Vietnamese-speaking tour guides, but we are still too busy." Ye Xiaozhou, deputy general manager of Pingxiang Southern International Travel Agency Co., Ltd., said that the travel agency has cooperated with more than 20 Vietnamese travel agencies. Outbound travel is also hot now. Halong, Da Nang, Nha Trang and other places in Vietnam are popular destinations for Chinese tourists.

Data from the Guangxi Entry-Exit Border Inspection General Station showed that as of August 14 this year, the number of people entering and leaving Guangxi through the Dongxing Port reached 5.153 million, and the number of people entering and leaving the Youyiguan Port reached 1.482 million.
Guangxi is connected to Vietnam by mountains and rivers and is geographically close to Vietnam, with 8 border counties (cities, districts) bordering Vietnam. In recent years, the China-Vietnam border area has jointly held various forms of exchange activities, and the exchanges between the people of the two countries have become increasingly close, with the content and frequency of exchanges expanding, further promoting the mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.
In March this year, the women's football team from Quang Ninh Province in Vietnam, which borders Guangxi, China, visited Pingguo City, Guangxi, and played football with the Pingguo Bainong Women's Football Team, attracting nearly 20,000 spectators to the Pingguo Guojing Stadium to watch the game.
Football exchanges have a long tradition in the border area between China and Vietnam. Dongxing and Mong Cai, Vietnam, are separated by only a river. The 29th Lantern Festival football friendly match between the two places has been held so far. It has become an important brand event for sports and cultural exchanges between the two places, as well as an important carrier for strengthening cultural exchanges and promoting friendly exchanges. For the people of the two places, watching a wonderful football friendly match together during the Lantern Festival has become a "fixed program".
Du Long, coach of the Dongxing City Football Team, said that by holding friendly football matches, not only did the communication between the people of the two places become more frequent, but the players of the two countries also enhanced exchanges and friendship through the exchange of football skills.
"Since the beginning of this year, based on the traditional football event, we have continued to create cross-border brand events that integrate sports and tourism, such as the China-Vietnam martial arts competition." Fan Guoqing, director of the Dongxing Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Sports and Tourism, said that in the future, special cultural and sports exchange activities such as singing duets on the boundary river, folk evening parties, and cross-border races will be held to further deepen cross-border cultural and sports exchanges and cooperation and build a "bridge of hearts" for the friendship between China and Vietnam.
Since 1992, the China-Vietnam Border Tourism Festival and Import and Export Commodity Fair, held alternately by Pingxiang City and Vietnam's Lang Son Province, has become a business card on the China-Vietnam border. Luo Guoyao, deputy secretary of the Pingxiang Municipal Party Committee, said that in recent years, relying on this brand event, the two places have also jointly held cultural and sports exchange activities such as football friendly matches, cycling races, border music parties, and border residents' gala evenings to promote economic and trade cooperation and cultural exchanges in the China-Vietnam border area and deepen people-to-people friendship.

More and more "two-way" exchange activities are in full swing at the China-Vietnam border. Hundreds of people singing and playing the zither, art performances, fashion shows, Zhuang wedding customs experience... During this year's "March 3" festival, Chinese and Vietnamese people and tourists from Longzhou County, Chongzuo City, Guangxi, Guanghe County, Cao Bang Province, Vietnam, and other places gathered in Longzhou to celebrate the festival. In the colorful Chinese and Vietnamese folk culture programs, they promoted the collision and exchange of the two countries' cultures and shared the friendly relations between China and Vietnam.
From the increasingly popular cross-border tourism, to the highly anticipated football matches, to the wonderful singing and dancing parties, the exchanges and interactions between the border residents of China and Vietnam are becoming increasingly rich, and their feelings are constantly deepening.
