Days pass by, nights turn by day. On August 13, the summer care class for teenagers in Bailian Village, Bixi Street, Changshu City, held a graduation ceremony, which brought the summer care class to a successful conclusion.
First, the children made handmade bamboo paintings. The volunteer teachers introduced the historical background and cultural value of bamboo weaving art to the young people, so that everyone had a preliminary understanding of this craft. Then, under the guidance of the teacher, they began to make bamboo paintings. Although it was their first attempt and the technique was a little unfamiliar, it did not affect everyone's enthusiasm for making bamboo paintings. With a pick and a press, the bamboo strips were intertwined on the children's fingertips. The scattered bamboo pieces gradually took shape after the weaving of the skillful hands. After the young people's patient weaving, a series of exquisite bamboo paintings were completed. Everyone proudly displayed their works with a full sense of accomplishment. The four words "peace and joy" also contain the summer care volunteers' deep blessings and beautiful visions for the young people.
At the end of the event, volunteers issued completion certificates and souvenirs to the young people, witnessing every effort and transformation, and drawing a perfect end to the study and life of the summer care class. The relevant staff of Bailian Village said that the end is not a farewell, and they hope that the children in the summer care class of Bailian Village will use their dreams as horses and books as sails to explore more new knowledge together.
