According to the Reference News WeChat official account, the Iranian News TV website reported on August 14 that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is worried about facing "assassination" due to his efforts to promote normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Israel.

The report said that the news was disclosed in a column article on the US Politico website on the 14th, citing the recent conversation between the Saudi Crown Prince and US lawmakers.

“The Saudi crown prince told members of Congress that he was risking his life by seeking a grand deal with the United States and Israel that would include normalizing Saudi-Israeli relations,” the article reads.

The article added: "On at least one occasion, he asked what the United States had done to protect former Egyptian leader Anwar Sadat, who was killed after reaching a peace agreement with Israel."

Washington has reportedly been trying to add Riyadh to the list of regional countries that have reached a settlement with Israel in a bid to bolster support for its most cherished ally.
