Nanning, August 15, China National Radio (Reporter Liang Yulin) On August 14, the CAEXPO Secretariat and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Nanning jointly held a press conference on the theme country of the 21st China-ASEAN Expo. It is reported that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Malaysia. Malaysia will serve as the theme country of the CAEXPO for the third time and will further expand the scale of the exhibition to promote China-Malaysia economic and trade cooperation to a higher level.

Mustafa, director of the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation, said at the meeting that the bureau has participated in the CAEXPO for 20 consecutive years since 2004, with cumulative sales of approximately US$1.4 billion (RM6.3 billion). This year's CAEXPO was fully coordinated and actively participated in the preparations for the exhibition by 10 government departments and agencies including the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation, which fully showcased Malaysia's rich products and services, and launched online and offline activities to enhance the effectiveness of the exhibition.

Mustafa introduced that a total of 150 Malaysian companies participated in this CAEXPO. The Malaysian theme pavilion focused on displaying fashion lifestyle products such as food and beverages, health care, pet care, and skin care. The "Charming City" exhibition area displayed and promoted Malaysia's tourist attractions. At the same time, a series of activities such as product selection, B2B business matching meetings, live streaming, durian and coffee shopping festivals will be held to continue to deepen the economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between Malaysia and China.

CAEXPO has always provided an important platform for Malaysian enterprises to enter the vast Chinese market. Fadil Ismail, Consul General of Malaysia in Nanning, said that through CAEXPO, products such as Musang King durian, bird's nest and white coffee have gained higher popularity and market share in China. Last year, the scale of Malaysia's participation in the exhibition reached a historical high, with a total of 116 booths used by the government and corporate institutions. This year at CAEXPO, Malaysia will further expand the scale of the exhibition and organize more enterprises, government agencies and business associations to participate. At the same time, this year, Malaysia's fresh durian will be directly exported to China, and fresh durian will become the highlight of the Malaysian pavilion and the Durian and Coffee Shopping Festival.
