According to Red Star Capital Bureau on August 14, recently, the car blogger "Dong Laosi Says Cars" (hereinafter referred to as the blogger) released a video saying that he had recently received a lawsuit notice from Ideal Auto (02015.HK/LI.US), demanding that he pay 1 million yuan in compensation, delete related works, and apologize in newspapers. The cause of the incident was a joke video that alluded to Ideal MEGA-related content.

On August 14, Ideal Auto responded to the Red Star Capital Bureau, saying: "On March 7 this year, Ideal Auto discovered that the Douyin account 'Dong Laosi Talks about Cars' released a short video titled "Crazy New Cars". The video contained a lot of insulting information that defamed the Ideal Auto brand and MEGA models, causing adverse effects. In response, Ideal Auto took legal measures to protect its rights, and the case is currently being heard in court."

According to the video posted by the blogger, he has appointed a lawyer to respond to the lawsuit. The blogger said that he will actively respond and hope to solve the problem through communication. He emphasized that his original intention of saying that the car was to make friends and create enthusiasm for new energy, rather than deliberately damaging the image of any company.

"Dong Laosi Talks about Cars" has 356,000 followers on the Douyin platform and uses a funny style of situational dialogue. As of press time, his account has published a total of 195 works and received 5.195 million likes.

The blogger also mentioned in the video that Ideal Auto believes that its actions infringe the MEGA model and damage the image of entrepreneurs. Ideal Auto requires the deletion of the relevant video, a 30-day public apology, compensation of 1 million yuan, and the payment of litigation costs.

In response, the blogger said that his creations were all based on hot topics and results, and he was not instructed by anyone, did not instruct netizens to comment, and did not gain illegal benefits from it. He believes that the image and sales of MEGA are mainly determined by the design and price of the vehicle itself, rather than a single video content.

Ideal Auto also told the Red Star Capital Bureau that "the public and self-media have the right to reasonably evaluate and discuss social hot issues, but these have certain limits and cannot exceed the boundaries of the law, including the so-called jokes created by self-media, which cannot rise to serious insults or defamation to slander the company. When a company believes that a certain speech is suspected of infringing the company's reputation and causing damage to the company's operations, the company has the right to defend its rights through legal channels, which is a normal act of defending rights in accordance with the law. If the relevant creative video leads the public to have negative associations with Ideal Auto, publishes insulting remarks, and thus produces negative comments and damaging consequences, it is suspected of infringing the company's reputation rights."
