So why is Zeekr in such a hurry to release new models?
After the press conference, Zeekr CEO An Conghui, Vice President Lin Jinwen, Vice President Chen Qi and other senior executives participated in an online group interview and responded to questions about Zeekr's product planning, intelligent driving, etc.
Zeekr said that the 2024 Zeekr 001 was planned at the beginning of last year, but the market situation changed this year and 001 was iterated in the first half of the year.
The 2025 Zeekr 001 was developed after the new Zeekr 001 was released in February this year. The reason for the development was that the market and users had a strong demand for the Zeekr 001 to use the self-developed intelligent driving system.
An Conghui said, "Maybe we didn't do enough and didn't communicate in advance. In the future, Zeekr's products will be announced in advance. At present, the hardware has been upgraded, and we will focus on software upgrades for a long time in the future."
Ye Jinyu, director of vehicle R&D at Zeekr Intelligent Technology, said that Chen Qi had been in seclusion for several months and had actually completed the software and hardware preparations three months ahead of expectation.
Lin Jinwen said that the current market competition is extremely fierce, and Zeekr needs to provide the best technology and products to users as quickly as possible in order to achieve sufficiently good market performance.
At the end of the group interview, An Conghui said that some decisions made at this press conference were difficult, but the hurdle of self-developed intelligent driving must be overcome. The intelligent driving system must move towards full-stack self-development. It must move from multiple routes to a single route and focus.
However, there are also views that Zeekr was forced to release new models so quickly.
Because just a while ago, An Conghui said at the Hong Kong launch of the new Zeekr 009 that Zeekr, as an independent listed company, will strive to achieve a balance between income and expenditure within 2024. In other words, for the loss-making Zeekr, profitability is the top priority.
This speculation is not without reason.
According to Zeekr's first quarter financial report for 2024, Zeekr achieved revenue of 14.737 billion yuan in the first quarter, a year-on-year increase of 71%, and delivered 33,059 new vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 117%.
Although it seems that both revenue and vehicle deliveries have increased significantly, Zeekr's net loss in the first quarter was 2.22 billion yuan.
It should be noted that this is the first financial report of Zeekr after its listing.
The prospectus of Zeekr before its listing showed that Zeekr's net losses in 2021 and 2022 were 4.514 billion yuan and 7.655 billion yuan respectively, and its net loss in the first half of 2023 was 3.871 billion yuan.
In other words, Zeekr is still in a state of continuous losses.
In addition, Zeekr’s rapid iteration may also be intended to boost sales.
When Zeekr released its first quarter financial report for 2024, An Conghui said that the company is expected to achieve its annual sales target of 230,000 vehicles.
According to the latest delivery data officially released by Zeekr, from January to July 2024, Zeekr delivered a total of 103,525 units.
That is to say, in 7 months, Zeekr has not yet completed half of its annual sales target.
In the second half of the year, all companies will certainly try their best to achieve their annual targets, the market will become more competitive, and the situation is likely to change significantly.
The first is the difference in price.
The price range of the 2025 Zeekr 001 is RMB 259,000 to RMB 769,000. Among them, the price of RMB 769,000 is the newly launched 001 FR version. The price range of the 2024 Zeekr 001 when it is released is RMB 269,000 to RMB 329,000.
In comparison, the starting price of the new Zeekr 001 has dropped by 10,000 yuan.
Compared with the old model, the new Zeekr 007 has a price reduction of 20,000 to 30,000 yuan for all versions except the top-of-the-line four-wheel drive performance version.

The 2025 Zeekr 001 is the first to be equipped with Zeekr's active AI smart cockpit and Vast Intelligent Driving 2.0.
Chen Qi said that Haohan Intelligent Driving 2.0 includes the scenario cognition big model SCM and the interactive regulation and control big model IPM. SCM can understand more than 1,000 new traffic scenarios, and the cognitive accuracy has increased by more than 120%; IPM integrates prediction, decision-making and planning into a big model, and is trained with the driving experience data of experienced drivers, which restores the human driving style to the greatest extent. The 2025 Zeekr 007 has been upgraded in terms of performance, energy replenishment speed, smart cockpit and driving.
It is reported that the 2025 Zeekr 007's four-wheel drive model's 0-100 acceleration has been improved from 3.5 seconds to 3.4 seconds; the rear-wheel drive model has been improved from 5.4 seconds to 5.0 seconds.
The 2025 Zeekr 007 series is equipped with laser radar and dual OrinX intelligent driving chips as standard. Not only has the entire series upgraded to Zeekr AI OS, but also upgraded to "Haohan Intelligent Driving 2.0", based on end-to-end parking scenes and intersection scenes, and also upgraded the intelligent parking evolution, and opened the urban NZP commuting mode.

Perhaps in order to appease the emotions of some car owners, Zeekr also announced that all orders for the 2024 Zeekr 007 that have been placed but not scheduled for production before 20:00 on August 13, 2024 will be upgraded to the 2025 Zeekr 007 free of charge.
It is worth mentioning that in July, a screenshot circulated online showed that a "Zeekr East China General Manager Li" posted a message in the "Zeekr East China Store General Group" WeChat group saying that the new version of Zeekr 001 will be officially announced at the end of this month and will be launched in October.
In response to this, the official Weibo account of Zeekr’s Legal Department refuted the rumor, saying that the news was false and that Zeekr would severely investigate such illegal acts.
Zeekr stated that Zeekr does not have an East China regional unit division; the title of "General" will not be used in Zeekr's internal corporate culture; Suzhou and Hefei belong to other regional units within the Zeekr system respectively; Zeekr will not use WeChat for office messages; Niu Changmin, Hou Xianfeifei, Liang Kun, Mao Liang and others in the screenshots do not exist.
However, one month after refuting the rumor, Zeekr launched the new Zeekr 001 with great fanfare.
