Recently, with the sound of a cannon, after 533 days of continuous fighting, the Zhoujia Chong Tunnel of the Xiangjing Railway, constructed by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group, was successfully completed, marking a phased victory for another key control project on the entire line and laying a solid foundation for opening up the bridge erection operation channel.

Zhoujia Chong Tunnel is located in Xiangyang City, Hubei Province. It is a single-hole double-track tunnel with a total length of 2,252 meters and a maximum buried depth of about 60 meters. It is the longest tunnel in this section and is also the only way to transport beams. It is one of the controlling projects of the entire line.
The Xiangjing Railway starts from Xiangyang City, Hubei Province in the north, and goes south through Yicheng City to Jingmen City. It is 116.73 kilometers long and has a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After completion, it will improve the comprehensive transportation system in central Hubei and greatly help the economic development of the Jianghan Plain. The line connects the Zhengzhou-Wanzhou Railway under construction in the north and the Jingjing Railway and the Yangtze River High-speed Railway under construction in the south. It is a part of the "Hunan Channel", one of the main channels of the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railways in the medium and long-term railway network planning. It is of great significance to strengthen the division of labor and cooperation with the Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao, Sichuan-Chongqing Yangtze River East Channel and other channels, and improve the layout of my country's high-speed railway network.
