In order to promote the construction of ecological civilization and publicize bird protection through various forms, the Beijing University of Science and Technology's Flying Bird Project Practice Group, the Flying Bird Luanying Publicity and Practice Team, recently set out from Beijing and arrived in Dongying City, Shandong Province, to carry out a 14-day summer social practice activity.
The Feiniao Luanying practice team carried out preliminary research activities with the theme of "Love birds, protect birds, and spread love". Through online questionnaires, offline focus interviews and street interviews, a large amount of information about the public's cognition and attitude towards bird protection was collected. The survey results show that most people's love for birds is only superficial, and they do not have enough knowledge of protection, but are willing to support related work. In response to this problem, the practice team has formulated a detailed publicity plan.
In the Yellow River Delta Nature Reserve, the practice team members distributed bird protection illustrations to tourists and popularized basic bird protection issues. At the same time, they also developed a "bird feces detector", which is a new method that uses biological and chemical methods to detect marker compounds and viruses in bird feces. The development of this scientific and technological product not only provides new ideas for bird health testing, but also combines scientific and technological innovation with bird protection, reflecting the innovative spirit of the team members.
In addition to scientific research and practice, the Feiniao Luanying practice team also actively participated in volunteer services. They contacted the Yellow River Estuary Ecological Protection Area and arranged security inspections, guidance, assistance, cleaning, feeding and other work tasks in the scenic area. During the volunteer explanations at the Bird Museum, the team members enhanced their understanding and thinking on a series of bird protection issues by reciting the script and translating between Chinese and English. During the six-day practice, the team members had close contact with nature, experienced the wonders of nature, and purified their souls.
The successful implementation of this social practice activity not only deepened the team members' understanding and enthusiasm for bird protection, but also contributed youthful strength to promoting the construction of ecological civilization. The members of the Feiniao Luanying practice team interpreted the true meaning of "loving birds, protecting birds, and spreading love" with practical actions, and let the green spirit spread to thousands of lights.
