Registration for the fourth lecture of the "Love China, Repair the Great Wall" series begins

In conjunction with the "Passing on the Torch and Strengthening the National Spirit - Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the "Love China, Repair the Great Wall" Social Sponsorship Activity" currently on display at the Capital Museum, the fourth lecture of the "Love China, Repair the Great Wall" series will be held at 14:00 on August 17 in the multi-function hall on the first floor of the basement of the Capital Museum. Wei Shuya, project manager of the Cultural Conservation Group of Tencent Foundation, will invite the audience to "repair" the Great Wall together and tell the story of how digital technology helps protect the Great Wall.
On July 5, the "Passing on the Torch and Strengthening the National Spirit - Celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the "Love China, Repair the Great Wall" Social Sponsorship Activity" was unveiled in the East Area of the Waterscape Courtyard on the first basement floor of the Capital Museum. More than 150 cultural relics, pictures, archives and other exhibits systematically display the achievements of the "Love China, Repair the Great Wall" social sponsorship activity, revealing little-known stories in the protection of the Beijing section of the Great Wall, and inviting the audience to continue to write a new chapter in the protection and inheritance of the Great Wall cultural heritage. Photo by Fang FeiWei Shuya has been involved in the Great Wall protection project since 2018, and has also participated in related projects of grotto temples and archaeological national heritage parks. This lecture mainly talks about how social forces can play their advantages to participate in the Great Wall protection public welfare project, as well as the main applications of digital technology in the research, protection and management of the Great Wall. Taking the attempts and explorations made by Tencent Foundation in public participation and digitalization over the past 10 years as an example, it introduces its project exploration and main achievements in the restoration of the Great Wall itself, innovative research on the Great Wall, and the promotion of Great Wall culture.
Visitors need to follow the Capital Museum WeChat official account, click "Love·Participation-Appointment·Lecture", and enter the event list page to make an appointment. On the day of the event, visitors can enter the Capital Museum from the underground east entrance with the event reservation success page. The event reservation success page is only valid for one entry on the same day. Check-in starts 60 minutes before the opening. Check-in is not possible 15 minutes after the opening. Overtime of 15 minutes will be regarded as automatic abandonment of the event.
