Bella Adabert von SpanyiBéla Adalbert von Spányi (19 March 1852 – 12 June 1914) was a prominent Hungarian landscape and outdoor nature painter. Born in Budapest, he began his art studies at an early age and studied in Vienna for three years before moving to Paris and Munich to further develop his artistic skills.

The period in Spányi's career during which he was in Munich was of great significance to his oeuvre and professional success, as his work became extremely popular among Bavarian art dealers and even attracted the attention of the Bavarian Regent, later King Ludwig III, a well-known patron of the arts.

In Hungary, Spányi's name is closely associated with his excellence in landscape painting, and his work focuses on landscape painting, combining natural landscapes with profound artistic conception. Although many of his paintings are scattered around the world, most of them are still preserved in Hungary, especially in the collection of the Hungarian National Gallery.

Spányi's artistic achievements were widely recognized, and he was honored by the Academy of Fine Arts in Berlin in 1889 with a large medal and a diploma of honor. His award-winning works during his lifetime included Autumn Morning (Gyorgy Raft award) in 1882, Reed-taking and Autumn sunshine (1893). In addition, in 1893, he created five large murals in the Hunter Hall of the Hungarian Parliament.

Spányi died on June 12, 1914, and was buried in Budapest. His artistic legacy and contribution to landscape painting have earned him an important place in the history of Hungarian art.
