The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security recently released a number of new occupations and new jobs to the public. Among them, two new jobs, community elderly helper and elderly bathing assistant, were added under the nursing home care worker occupation.
From having a place to rely on when in old age to having something to enjoy and something to enjoy, the elderly care industry has shown new demands and new changes in recent years.
With the segmentation and specialization of elderly care services, more employment growth areas have emerged in the elderly care sector.
Industry experts suggest that more efforts should be made to cultivate talents, standardize professional skill standards, and take multiple measures to improve the overall quality of practitioners.
New professions continue to emerge to solve the problem of elderly care
Zhang Bo, a caregiver from Jiurucheng Elderly Care Service Co., Ltd. in Hongya County, Meishan City, Sichuan Province, recently visited Grandpa Liu's home in Hongya County to provide him with bathing assistance services.
76-year-old Grandpa Liu suffered from partial hemiplegia after a cerebral hemorrhage and also suffered from some basic geriatric diseases. "We need to measure whether the elderly's vital signs are stable before assisting them with bathing, and we also need to pay attention to their condition at all times," he said.
Wang Dongmei, nursing director of Hongya Jiurucheng Elderly Care Service Co., Ltd., said that home caregivers must undergo at least 3 to 6 months of training and obtain professional caregiver certificates. There are also standardized techniques for turning the elderly over during bathing to avoid secondary injuries. The company established a home service department in June last year, and currently has 60 to 70 orders per day, including nutritious meal delivery, functional maintenance training, bathing assistance and other services.
