Reference News reported on August 12According to a report on the RT website on August 11, the Belarusian Ministry of Defense released a video of the wreckage of a Ukrainian drone that was previously shot down in its airspace.
The video showed what appeared to be charred metal fragments of a drone wing and part of the fuselage scattered in a wooded area, the report said. The Belarusian military did not elaborate on the type of drone that was shot down. Some of the drones eventually flew to Russia and were later shot down near the city of Yaroslavl.
The report said that according to Belarusian media, the drones were loaded with various NATO electronic equipment, including US-made active antennas and Belgian navigation systems. "The downed drone seemed to have been assembled by (Ukraine) together with NATO engineers," the Belarusian news agency reported.
The report pointed out that so far, Kiev and its Western supporters have not commented on this. Belarus summoned the Ukrainian chargé d'affaires to Belarus and expressed its protest. The Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that such actions by Ukraine could lead to further escalation of the situation and asked Kiev to prevent such incidents from happening in the future.
