By then, the channel for "made in Hefei" new energy vehicles to "go to sea by ship" will be further unblocked.

It is understood that the Zhongpai Operation Area of ​​the Jianghuai Canal Port Area of ​​Hefei Port is located on the bank of the Pai River in the Economic Development Zone, and within a radius of 15 kilometers, there are automobile manufacturers such as Volkswagen Anhui, NIO, and JAC Motors. In particular, with the development of the new energy industry, the transportation demand for Hefei's new energy vehicles and energy storage-related equipment has increased sharply, and the existing ro-ro berths with an annual design capacity of 100,000 vehicles/year are difficult to meet the growing demand for water transportation.

In order to further promote Hefei's new energy vehicle industry, reduce logistics costs, meet the transportation needs of port-side enterprises, and optimize Hefei's comprehensive transportation system, Hefei will partially optimize the central dispatch operation plan of the Jianghuai Canal Port in Hefei Port. After the adjustment, the number of roll-on/roll-off berths will be increased to two, and the annual designed throughput capacity will be greatly improved to 300,000 vehicles/year, providing strong support for Hefei's automobile roll-on/roll-off exports overseas.

In the next step, the Hefei Municipal Transportation Bureau will fully tap into port resources, promote the upgrading of water transportation capabilities, and help Hefei's new energy vehicle logistics reduce costs and increase efficiency as well as industrial development.
