Kerner made it clear that the 2024 Paris Olympics will be the most technologically advanced Olympics in history. "A large amount of data will be generated during the event, and we need to process, store and use this data in multiple functional areas. Technology, as the backbone of this Olympics, makes all this possible."
He introduced that this Olympics is the first 100% cloud Olympics. This means that no physical storage space is needed, everything is in the cloud. In every previous Olympics, we need to store all the content generated during the competition, including hundreds of thousands of pictures and videos. In the past, it took several days to store and archive the pictures of the Olympic opening ceremony alone. Now, at 7 o'clock in the morning of the second day after the opening ceremony, all media content has been stored for use by media and commentators from various countries.
At the same time, this Olympic Games formulated the Olympic AI Agenda for the first time. Korner cited the example that the IOC launched an energy data management project in Paris, using the "Energy Expert" tool to improve the collection, processing and analysis capabilities of energy consumption data, helping future Olympic organizers make decisions based on data and provide more appropriate energy solutions based on the scale of the event. In addition, this Olympic Games used active AI protection tools to detect social media to ensure that athletes can compete without distraction, and a total of about 97,000 offensive posts were marked during the competition.

Exakos said that at first we did not expect that cloud technology would develop so rapidly in the broadcasting field, but if there is any occasion that is most suitable for adopting cloud technology, it is the Olympics.
"In the Paris Olympics, we used large-scale cloud services to transmit event content, and the proportion has surpassed satellite and optical cables. This of course also means that we are more efficient, and broadcasting organizations can provide more content to the audience without using too many resources. As a result, the area occupied by our broadcast center and competition venue has become smaller. We consumed 50% fewer resources than the Rio Olympics, but produced 40% more content than in the past," said Exarchos.
He said that the Olympics is a world event. "In the Olympics, we need to be very inclusive, especially for small countries with relatively few resources. Now, through the technology we have developed, we have successfully delivered all the content in countries around the world, and it has become very easy for them to access this content and broadcast it. Therefore, we will see that more content will be disseminated in all countries, not just in large countries."
It is worth mentioning that the cloud technology support for this Olympics is provided by the Chinese company Alibaba Cloud, which defeated the cloud service giant Amazon Cloud to become the exclusive cloud service provider for the Olympics, and its cooperation with the Olympic Committee will continue until the next 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
