Thirteen years ago, the Chinese-German mixed-race Li Wanda and her sister Li Linda appeared on the stage of "China's Got Talent". They wore long skirts and led baby elephants, like fairy tale princesses. Their simple wish to "plant trees" moved audiences across the country.
Li Wanda's father, Ma You in Chinese, is German and a world-renowned ecologist who helped the Philippines save endangered rainforests. Her mother, Li Mingguo, is from Xishuangbanna, Yunnan, and an environmentalist. Both of them have devoted most of their lives to the restoration of rainforests in Xishuangbanna. After Ma You passed away, Li Mingguo inherited her husband's legacy and continued to work with her two daughters to restore the rainforest.
