On August 9, torrential rain fell in Chengdu, but this did not stop the enthusiasm of fans, because starting from that night, Andy Lau will hold four consecutive concerts at the Multifunctional Stadium of Chengdu Dong'an Lake Sports Park. This is also the first time in 13 years that Andy Lau has held a solo concert in Chengdu. As a senior fan of Andy Lau, I have long wanted to experience it in person, but I couldn't get a ticket for the concert, so I could only watch the grand concert on WeChat Moments.

Since the beginning of this year, the Sichuan performance market has remained hot. According to statistics, from January to the end of May this year, Sichuan Province approved the introduction of a total of 11,966 commercial performances, with an audience of more than 4.6 million people and box office revenue exceeding 1.7 billion yuan. In Chengdu alone, this month, Andy Lau, Jam Hsiao, Jony J, Karen Mok and other singers are or will soon perform. According to data from Damai and Maoyan, Chengdu holds more than 2,000 market-oriented music performances per year, with a box office of nearly 1 billion yuan, driving comprehensive consumption of more than 4 billion yuan, becoming the largest ticket warehouse in the central and western regions.
However, behind the thriving concert, a variety of strange phenomena were exposed.
During TFBOYS's concert in Xi'an in August 2023, fans occupied the high-speed rail, pasted posters inside the carriages, and sang TFBOYS's famous songs loudly, deafening the passengers and making them upset.
During Angela Chang's concert in 2023, a "group ticket" incident occurred. Fans purchased tickets collectively, but were notified by the organizer just before the show started that the reserved seats were sold out. They either had to get a refund or move to a remote seat.
Many concert tickets are hard to come by. For example, I bought tickets for Andy Lau's concert as soon as they went on sale on the ticketing website, but still failed to get any. According to media reports, the price of tickets for singer Zhao Lei's concert in Jinan was nearly 10,000 yuan. On one hand, the ticketing website sold out the moment they went on sale, and on the other hand, scalpers held a large number of tickets and resold them at a high price, which attracted complaints from fans.
It is not only difficult to buy tickets, but also difficult to refund them. For example, Mayday’s Nanjing concert clearly stated that tickets cannot be refunded, but can be transferred once 48 hours before the concert; Jay Chou’s Taiyuan concert clearly stated that “except for force majeure, no refund or exchange”; Wang Xinling’s Beijing concert will charge a 50% refund fee if the ticket is refunded two months in advance; a user who refunded Jolin Tsai’s 1,590 yuan ticket for the inner field concert within one minute was also charged a 50% handling fee.
Today, we have a hot topic to talk about.Which aspects of the concert are you most looking forward to improving? Can the scalping of tickets be curbed? Can the ticket purchase and refund mechanism be more transparent and reasonable?Welcome to comment and interact!
