After the competition, Liu Qingyi's first coach told Jimu News (reporting email: [email protected]) reporters that Liu Qingyi played in a relatively good state during the competition, "She played well overall and was in good shape."

In the group stage, Liu Qingyi advanced to the quarterfinals as the second in the group. In the subsequent quarterfinals, she defeated Ukrainian player Katerina 3:0. In the break dance semifinals, Liu Qingyi played against Lithuanian player Dominika. In the end, the referee ruled Dominika the winner with a score of 1:2. Liu Qingyi unfortunately missed the final. In the bronze medal match, she continued to play against Dutch player India and finally won 2:1, winning the bronze medal in the women's break dance competition at the Paris Olympics.

Liu Qingyi was born in Huixian, Xinxiang City, Henan Province in 2005. She started practicing breakdancing at the age of 10. In 2017, Liu Qingyi began to participate in various breakdancing competitions and gradually emerged in the breakdancing circle. Her first coach Feng Wenbo once commented that she has both talent and hard work, and is "one in a million".

In 2019, Liu Qingyi won the women's championship in the street dance event of the China Extreme Sports Conference. A year later, Liu Qingyi joined the Henan Provincial Team. In 2023, Liu Qingyi joined the national breakdance team and won the gold medal in the women's breakdance event at the Asian Games held in the same year, thus obtaining a direct qualification for the Paris Olympics.

On the evening of August 9, in her hometown of Huixian, Xinxiang City, Henan Province, the team members who had practiced with Liu Qingyi in the same dance club and her enlightenment coach watched the competition online and cheered for her. After Liu Qingyi won the bronze medal, coach Feng Wenbo said that although the result was a bit regrettable, he felt that Liu Qingyi had performed well, "She performed well overall and was in good shape."
