In order to cope with extreme weather flood prevention and rescue work, the Changping District Fire Rescue Detachment planned ahead and established a forward command center to ensure information exchange and rescue coordination during the flood season, and to ensure that rainfall conditions were reported at the first time, flood conditions were grasped at the first time, and forces were deployed at the first time.
At 17:53 on August 9, the Changping District Fire Rescue Brigade received a report that people and vehicles were trapped in water at an intersection in Shahe Town. After receiving the dispatch order, the Huilongguan Fire Rescue Station quickly dispatched team members to the scene to deal with the situation.
At 18:17, the fire rescue personnel arrived about 70 meters away from the trapped vehicle, but because the water was as deep as 70 centimeters, the on-site commander ordered the crew to wear personal protective equipment and wade through the water on foot to approach the trapped vehicle.
"Fortunately, the water around the vehicle was not very deep, and only reached the car logo." A firefighter who participated in the rescue said that a total of four people were trapped in the car and were not in danger, but the car owner said that the car window could not be opened. "Originally, everyone planned to push the car to a safe area, but it was difficult to push it in the accumulated water."
At 18:30, the fire rescue personnel communicated with the caller and obtained his consent to break the window. At 18:32, the fire rescue personnel used demolition tools to remove a window, rescued the four trapped people from the car, and then escorted them to a safe place.

The fire rescue personnel shouted reminders from time to time to comfort the trapped people and ensure that the four people could safely keep up with the transfer team. At 18:41, the fire rescue personnel confirmed that there was no danger at the scene and returned.
It is reported that in Changping District, the flood-related police situation caused by the heavy rain continued until 2:27 am on the 10th. Water accumulated in a resident's home in Beiqijia Town. The Beiqijia Fire Rescue Station sent a crew to help the residents drain the water and solve the problem. The fire rescue personnel worked hard until the rescue was over at around 5 am before returning to the team.
According to statistics, from 14:00 on August 9 to 2:30 a.m. on August 10, the Changping District Fire Rescue Detachment received a total of 58 flood-related alarms and evacuated 14 trapped people.
