"The Strange Stories of the Tang Dynasty: Journey to the West" is now my daily drama. Two episodes a day is not enough, my friends and I have started to watch the first season and revisit "Chang'an Black Tea".
In the first season of "Tang Dynasty Weird Stories", Xijun's father Pei Shilang said to Chang'an County Lieutenant Su Wuming: "Everyone in Chang'an is young, and there is singing and dancing everywhere." The words sound plain, but when you hear them, you feel a kind of passionate power. The prosperous times are heroic and full of strange stories. This is cultural confidence.
In the first season, Su Wuming, a disciple of Judge Dee, and Lu Lingfeng, a general of the Central Army, met each other and formed a strange fate. From then on, one was a scholar and the other was a warrior, and they repeatedly solved unsolved cases. "Gantangyi", "Shiqiaotu" and "Huangmeisha" have a strange and changeable rhythm, a hazy atmosphere, a tortuous process and an unexpected ending. Su Wuming is resourceful, Lu Lingfeng is brave, Pei Xijun is affectionate but not hypocritical, Fei Jishi is humorous but not cumbersome, and Cherry Girl, as a tool, has a weak presence and is not ambiguous in fighting, but fortunately she is not sticky. The five-member team performs their duties and complements each other professionally. The whole play is stable and has many ups and downs. It goes well with rice, but it doesn't hurt the stomach. In 2022, it created quite a surprise.
At the end of "Tang Dynasty Weird Stories", Lu Lingfeng took office as the Dali Temple Minister and said that there were 78,900 cases to be investigated. I have been looking forward to the second season since then. Two years later, the detective team gathered again and finally went west. Among the units I have watched, "The Death of the Coroner" is meticulous, "The Snowy Mo Family Store" is tortuous, "The Demon-Subduing Transformation" is magnificent, and "The Rhinoceros of the Sky" is sad. The five members of the team have been tempered and their tacit understanding is better than the previous one. Especially Master Fei Ji, his hairstyle is unruly and chic, and his nose is redder. Yang Zhigang's lines are completely smooth, and there is a kind of intimacy in the weird punctuation. Yang Xuwen's literary drama is monotonous, but the fighting scenes are really exciting. When he waved the spear, it reminded me of Luo Cheng and Gao Chong, arrogant and handsome.
One thing I particularly like is that the ladies in the play are portrayed with their own character and full of personality. Compared with simply presenting a thousand charming and charming women, it is far superior.
In "The Death of a Coroner", Dugu Yang's wife Chun Tiao seems to be dissolute and unrestrained at first glance, but in fact she is strong-willed and loyal. Like the coroner, she is a person who is stubborn and picky about good things. Chun Tiao is indulgent in her behavior, and is coveted and harassed. She insists on her own way and doesn't care what others say. Dugu Yang examines corpses and makes paper horses and clay figurines, and is ridiculed and despised. She also insists on her own way and doesn't care what others say. The road they walk is actually the same muddy. Chun Tiao's indulgence contains a component of resentment. Dugu's sorrow contains a factor of guilt. The two of them really have a sense of tragedy that is a combination of coincidences.
Earlier, Dugu Yang released his wife as a favor. Later, Chun Tiao learned skills as a way of repaying his kindness. The relationship between the dull coroner and his wife was almost an ill-fated one, but in the end, it became a good story, thanks to Chun Tiao's loyalty and his mother Cao Hui's generosity. Dugu Yang was not wronged, and having a wife like this was a comfort to him.
A-mi in "The Rhinoceros of the Sky" is a different type of woman. She had no choice of her origin and could only live in seclusion in the market as a descendant of the great rebel Duan Gui. Later, she became a businessman, just to have enough food and clothing in her life. A-mi's ambitions were not high, and her demands were limited. She could have lived happily. But because of her beauty, her surname, and her ability to tame Lingxi, she was targeted by the ambitious Linghu Shuo, fell into the love trap he had woven, and became a banner of rebellion.
This unit can be renamed "The life of A-mi who was robbed". A-mi is really weak and helpless compared to Lin Xiaoniang from the Red Wolf family. The only one who treats her sincerely is probably the rhinoceros in Taiyin Mountain. A-mi was saved by the eagle and returned to the mountains and forests, which is a romantic destination. Just like Diao Chan's disappearance with the wind, it is beautiful and reasonable.
Su Wuming once quoted Di Gong's words, "The Tang Dynasty was full of splendor, and Chang'an was peaceful and prosperous, but there were also ghosts." During this journey, Su and Lu killed evil and eliminated demons, which was also a way to expose corruption and examine people's hearts.
I don't know what Yuan Fang thinks, but I think that after reading this detective collection, Di Gong should be satisfied with his two disciples. There are many stories in the Tang Dynasty, many strange people and animals, and I will continue to watch "Tang Gui".
