The reporter learned from the Daxing District Fire Rescue Brigade that on the afternoon of August 9, at an intersection in Daxing District, a private car stalled due to waterlogging caused by heavy rain. Among the trapped people was a pregnant woman. To ensure the safety of the pregnant woman, the firefighters pushed the stalled vehicle directly to a safe area with high terrain.
At 16:33 on August 9, the Daxing District Fire Rescue Detachment received a dispatch order from the 119 Command Center of the Corps stating that people were trapped in a car about 50 meters north of the intersection of Linxiao North Road and Xingwang Street and needed rescue. After receiving the alarm, the Huangcun Fire Rescue Station sent team members to the scene to deal with the situation.
After arriving at the scene, the fire rescue personnel found that some sections of the road were severely flooded. After questioning, they learned that the people trapped in the car were a couple and the woman was pregnant. They had been driving their car into a flooded section of the road and accidentally got stuck in it. After the car automatically stalled, the couple did not dare to start the car again.
"At that time, the accumulated water had exceeded the calf level. In order to ensure the safety of the pregnant woman trapped in the car, we directly pushed the wading vehicle to higher ground, and then escorted the pregnant woman to a safe area indoors." Xiao Yang, deputy director of Huangcun Fire Rescue Station, introduced.
It is reported that at present, the rescue stations under the Daxing District Fire Rescue Detachment are pumping out water and draining water in an orderly manner in their respective areas to ensure citizens' travel and smooth roads.
