The reporter learned from the scene that in the second half of this year, Beijing will host a series of important sports events and activities, including the China Open, WTT China Grand Slam, 2024-2025 Beijing International Ski Federation Snowboard and Freestyle Skiing Big Air World Cup, 2024-2025 ISU Speed ​​Skating World Cup (Beijing Station), 2024-2025 ISU Short Track Speed ​​Skating World Tour (Beijing Station), and Teqball World Series Beijing Station, as well as mass sports events such as the Mountain to Sea Human-Vehicle Relay Shanhai Youyou Race, Sunshine Youth Challenge, and Xiongguan 330 (Chicheng) Great Wall Cross-Country Race.
On August 8, Beijing Olympic Center launched five events at the same time. These events include the 4-day "Offline Carnival" of the 5th "8.8" Beijing Sports Consumption Festival; the Olympic style special event of the "2024 Global Debut Festival" with the theme of "Global Debut, Enjoy Olympic Garden"; the first Bird's Nest Sports Culture Consumption Festival, which will last until mid-to-late October; the "Olympic 'Rhythm' Flowing Light ? Wonderful Summer" event; and the "Free Cycling on the Central Axis" event, where 400 cycling enthusiasts rode 5 kilometers along the landmark building.
In addition to the above-mentioned main venue activities, this Beijing Olympic City Sports and Culture Festival will organize a series of events and activities including the main event and the Beijing stop of the World Series of Teqball, Beijing International Sports Film Week, Youth Olympic Education, Double Olympic Culture Promotion, and the construction of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Sports Culture Tourism Belt. Among them, the main event will be launched on August 16 in Changping District, Beijing.
The theme of this "8.8" Beijing Sports Consumption Festival is "joyful movement, fun shopping, and trendy play", linking the three regions of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei to jointly promote the deep integration and development of commerce, culture, tourism and sports, and continuously expand sports consumption. During the consumption festival, the Beijing Sports Bureau will set up branch venues in 16 districts of Beijing and launch distinctive "sports +" projects to further enrich the cultural life of citizens. In addition, the monthly theme event of "Twelve Orders of Beijing" will be organized in August with the theme of "Parent-Child Order·Summer in Beijing".
It is understood that the 15th Beijing Olympic City Sports Culture Festival and the 5th "8.8" Beijing Sports Consumption Festival are co-organized by the Beijing Olympic City Development Promotion Association, Beijing Municipal Sports Bureau, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, Changping District People's Government, Chaoyang District People's Government, Beijing State-owned Assets Management Co., Ltd., etc., aiming to further utilize the dual Olympic heritage, empower the development of sports, culture and tourism, and promote the construction of an international sports consumption center city.
