Phnom Penh, August 7 (China News Service) - (Reporter Yang Qiang) After a comprehensive assessment and multi-party coordination by the Chinese medicine medical team assisting Cambodia, a Chinese compatriot who suddenly fell seriously ill in Cambodia finally embarked on the journey home on August 3 local time. He entered Vietnam from Ho Chi Minh City by land ambulance, was transferred to Hanoi, and then returned to China from the Friendship Pass Port for further rehabilitation treatment.

Earlier on July 25, Chen Honglin, leader of the third Chinese Traditional Chinese Medicine Medical Team to Cambodia, who was busy at the TCM clinic of the China-Cambodia Friendship Hospital in Kosma, Phnom Penh, received an emergency notice that an employee of a Chinese-funded enterprise in Sihanoukville had a sudden cerebral hemorrhage and was being transferred from Sihanoukville, more than 200 kilometers away, to the China-Cambodia Friendship Hospital in Kosma, the capital, Phnom Penh, for examination and treatment.
After receiving the information, Chen Honglin quickly arranged the outpatient work, then contacted the local hospital translator and led Li Huiying, a member of the medical team with a background in emergency medicine, to the hospital emergency department. The patient's condition was far more serious than the doctors had imagined. Due to brain stem hemorrhage, he was in a coma and had to undergo tracheal intubation and ventilator-assisted breathing as soon as he arrived at the emergency room.
After learning about the patient's condition in detail, the Chinese medicine medical team in Cambodia immediately contacted the Chinese People's Liberation Army's medical expert group in Cambodia, and with the assistance of local translators, conducted a joint consultation on the patient's condition and treatment plan with experts from the emergency department, neurosurgery department, and ICU of the Kosma China-Cambodia Friendship Hospital.

The professional advice and help provided by the Chinese medicine medical team in Cambodia helped the patient recover. In the subsequent treatment, Chen Honglin and Li Huiying paid close attention to the patient's condition and served as a bridge of communication between the patient and the hospital, providing timely feedback on the patient's condition and treatment to the patient's accompanying personnel. After more than a week of treatment and observation, the patient had no new intracranial bleeding and his condition was stable.
At the request of the patient's family, the Chinese medicine medical team assisted in planning the transfer of the patient back to China for treatment. On August 5, after cooperation from many parties, the patient finally arrived safely in Nanning, Guangxi.
The third batch of Chinese medical aid teams to Cambodia not only undertake the daily diagnosis and treatment, free clinics and rounds of the TCM clinic of the Kosma China-Cambodia Friendship Hospital, but also actively respond to emergencies faced by overseas Chinese in Cambodia, organize multi-party consultations, and provide patients with language communication and other assistance within their capacity. At the same time, they play a professional and bridging role in the medical cooperation between China and Cambodia in the formulation of medical plans and the treatment process. (End)
