On the evening of August 5, near the Lupiguan Great Wall in Shicheng Town, Miyun District, three sophomore male students were unable to find the exit when climbing a wild mountain, and got lost and trapped. The long climb and the lack of water and food made the situation urgent. Fire rescue personnel coordinated with multiple rescue forces and successfully escorted the three men down the mountain. The entire rescue process took nearly 6 hours.
At 19:34 on August 5, the Miyun District Fire Rescue Brigade received a report that three sophomore male students got lost and were trapped on the mountain near the Lupi Pass Great Wall in Shicheng Town, Miyun District.
After receiving the alarm, Miyun Fire Department urgently dispatched team members from Xiwengzhuang Fire Rescue Station to the scene for rescue, and immediately contacted the local government, police station and Blue Sky Rescue Team.
On the way to the scene, the fire rescue personnel contacted the three trapped college students and learned that they had been climbing the mountain for more than nine hours. Although they were not injured, they could not find an exit to go down the mountain and had no water or food supplies.
After the rescue forces gathered at the foot of the mountain, they decided to go up the mountain for rescue under the leadership of a local guide, with 5 fire rescue personnel, 4 Blue Sky Rescue Team members and 1 policeman carrying drinking water and food.
Because the trapped people were located in a wild mountain, the road into the mountain was very rugged and most of the road was blocked by branches, thorns and weeds. In addition, due to recent rainfall, the surface of the mountain was muddy and slippery. The fire rescue personnel could only use flashlights and other equipment and move forward slowly, one step deep and one step shallow.
At 23:08, after more than three hours of trekking, the rescuers successfully found the trapped people and learned that none of the three were injured. After a short rest, the rescuers began to go down the mountain with the trapped people.
"Look at your feet, use your hands and feet, take your time, hold on to our shoulders, and move your other foot after you have stepped firmly." When encountering slopes or obstacles on the way down the mountain, the fire rescue personnel first helped the trapped people to take their backpacks and carefully helped the trapped people down the slope. On the way, they also encountered barbed wire blocking the road. The fire rescue personnel protected the trapped people's bodies and guided them to cross carefully.
At 1:17 a.m. on the 6th, after more than two hours of careful escort, the rescuers successfully sent the trapped people to the roadside at the foot of the mountain. The three college students expressed their gratitude to the rescuers.
It is understood that the three trapped men were classmates in junior high school and in different colleges. They agreed to go hiking together during the summer vacation. After obtaining the hiking route on the "Six Feet" APP, the three began to climb the mountain at 10 am that day. It was not until 19:00 that they found that the road was impassable. Because it was late at night and there were no lighting tools, the three could not identify the direction, so they called the police for help.
Miyun Fire Department reminds: Wild mountains are undeveloped and unmanaged, and climbing is often extremely risky. In case of bad weather, the structure and surface of the mountain are prone to unpredictable changes.
At the same time, the terrain in the wild is relatively complex. Blindly walking into an unfamiliar route may lead to getting lost. There are also some signal blind spots in the wild mountains. Once an emergency occurs, it is difficult to call the police for help in the first time.
Therefore, tourists and mountaineering enthusiasts must remember to choose regular scenic spots, make adequate preparations before climbing, plan travel routes and time in advance, and avoid climbing at night.
