According to the WeChat public account of "Huairou Media", this year, Baoshan Town cooperated with the Municipal Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences to plant 2,000 acres of corn and create a high-yield corn experimental field. Now the corn is growing well and is expected to be harvested and put on the market in October this year.
At the corn experimental base located in Dahedong Village, Zhuannian Village, Baoshan Town, the dark green corn plants stand upright, arranged neatly, and grow well.
It is reported that the corn varieties planted in Baoshan Town this year were recommended by experts in corn high-yield cultivation technology from the Beijing Academy of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences. They were selected using the "good variety matching method" and include more than ten varieties such as Jingke 968, MC703, MC708, and the fresh corn Jingke Glutinous 336. They are drought-resistant and high-temperature-resistant, with an estimated yield of about 800 kilograms per mu and an output value of about 1,500 yuan per mu.
Among them, the fresh corn Nongke Glutinous 336 has a short growth cycle, high nutritional value, fresh and tender taste, sweet and sticky with less residue, a sugar content of 15.2, and is rich in 347 micrograms of folic acid per 100 grams. It is known as the "king of coarse grains" and is deeply favored by consumers.
Baoshan Town adopts planting technologies including precise integrated water and fertilizer control for corn, high-yield and efficient rain-fed dryland cultivation of corn, and green, high-quality and efficient cultivation of fresh corn. These technologies not only increase corn yields and economic benefits, but also effectively protect soil and water resources. While promoting the sustainable development of the town's agriculture, they also make the "Baoshan Taste" industrial brand more technologically advanced.
