On July 31, 2024, the well-known research organization Canalys released the 2024Q2 global mobile phone research report, with shipments reaching 288.9 million units, an increase of 12%, marking the third consecutive quarter of year-on-year positive growth.

In terms of details, Samsung shipped 53.5 million units, a year-on-year increase of 1%, with a market share of 19%, ranking first; Apple shipped 45.6 million units, a year-on-year increase of 6%, with a market share of 16%, ranking second. Although Samsung and Apple firmly occupy the top two positions on the list, the growth rate of domestic mobile phone brands is higher than that of the two.

In Q2 2024, the year-on-year growth rates of Xiaomi, vivo, and Transsion smartphone shipments were 27%, 19%, and 12%, respectively, all in double digits. This shows that domestic smartphone brands have greater growth potential. Following this trend, domestic smartphone brands may surpass international brands such as Samsung and Apple in terms of shipments.

Overall, the rise of domestic mobile phone brands is the result of the combined effect of many factors, and future development still requires continuous efforts and innovation. With the continuous advancement of technology and the continuous optimization of market strategies, domestic mobile phone brands are expected to occupy a more important position in the global smartphone market.
