“Very smart”, “Everything in this exhibition hall is impressive”, “It feels great after the test drive”... From July 25 to 26, Dave Akbarsa Figano, Chairman of the External Relations of the Indonesian Professional Group Party, Member of Parliament, and Member of the First Committee of Parliament, led a delegation to visit Chongqing. At the SERES Phoenix Smart Factory, the delegation experienced a number of new energy vehicles that combined a sense of technology and high appearance, and they all praised the "Made in Chongqing" cars.

Indonesia is one of Chongqing's most important economic and trade partners in ASEAN countries.

In recent years, the two places have maintained close exchanges in the fields of economy and trade, industrial investment, channel logistics, cultural exchanges, local cooperation, etc., and the results are becoming increasingly fruitful. Chongqing and West Java Province of Indonesia became sister cities in May 2017, and the two sides have frequent interactions.

During their stay in Chongqing, Dave Figano and his delegation visited the Chongqing Dry Port of the New Land-Sea Corridor, walked into the BYD Phoenix Smart Factory, explored the Dazu Rock Carvings and the Eighteen Ladder Traditional Style Area, observed inland opening up, smart manufacturing, and urban renewal, and gained a multi-angle understanding of Chongqing's economic and social development and the construction of an inland open comprehensive hub, as well as the results of scientific and technological innovation and smart manufacturing development such as new energy vehicles, and explored new opportunities for cooperation.

Inside the BYD Phoenix Smart Factory, workshop workers were busy and orderly, and numerous robots were performing various operations such as vehicle welding. Sparks flew from time to time, causing the delegation members to exclaim in amazement.

Chongqing Seres Automobile invested in the establishment of Xiaokang Indonesia Automobile Company in Morden Cikande Industrial Park, Serang City, Banten Province, Indonesia in 2017, taking Indonesia as the first stop of its brand globalization, radiating to ASEAN and facing the world. At present, Xiaokang Indonesia Automobile Company mainly produces fuel vehicles, and is gradually adding electric models, gradually expanding from commercial models to passenger cars.

At the scene, the delegation conducted in-depth exchanges with engineers based on the situation in their own countries. "We are good friends with China, and the prospects for cooperation between the two countries are very optimistic. I hope you can expand your market share in Indonesia, and we will definitely actively promote cooperation." Many members of the delegation showed great interest in electric vehicles and expressed their desire to further expand cooperation from time to time.

At the Chongqing Dry Port of the New Land-Sea Corridor, Dave Figano learned about the construction of the corridor in detail. The project is an international logistics distribution center integrating "logistics + trade + industry + finance" and is a landmark project for the cooperation of relevant provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities in building the New Land-Sea Corridor.

It is understood that the Western Land-Sea Corridor mainly has three logistics organization modes: rail-sea combined transport trains, cross-border highway buses and international rail combined transport trains. The rail-sea combined transport trains of the Western Land-Sea Corridor can reach ports such as Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang and Perawang in Indonesia. As of the end of March 2024, the Chongqing Company of the Western Land-Sea Corridor has transported a total of 28,054 standard containers through the Indonesian rail-sea combined transport, with a cargo value of 389 million yuan.
