According to Electric Home, on July 17, according to 36Kr Auto, as of early July this year, Huawei's intelligent car solution BU's revenue reached 10 billion yuan in 2024. Compared with previous years, Huawei's car BU's revenue has doubled. In response to the relevant reports, Huawei said that when it comes to financial report information, it is recommended to refer to the official authoritative information.

Huawei's annual report shows that in 2022-2023, Huawei's automotive BU's annual revenue will be 2.1 billion and 4.7 billion yuan respectively. The revenue of Huawei's automotive BU in just half a year exceeds the total of the past two years. Huawei's automotive BU's revenue has increased significantly, mainly from its major customer, Seres. In the first half of 2024, a total of 194,200 vehicles were delivered, of which Huawei and Seres' cooperative models delivered about 190,000 vehicles, accounting for more than 90%.

However, 10 billion yuan in revenue is still not enough to support the independent operation of Huawei's current automotive BU. Changan Automobile previously issued an announcement, announcing that Huawei's automotive BU will be split before September this year and become a joint venture between Huawei and Changan. Dongfeng and GAC are also willing to invest. A person close to Huawei's automotive BU said that Dongfeng has been in contact with Huawei for a long time and is determined to establish a joint venture. Since some of GAC's teams overlap with Huawei's automotive BU teams, it is still considering how to coordinate the work of its own research team and Huawei's automotive BU team after the establishment of the joint venture.

The Automotive BU is Huawei's intelligent automotive solutions division officially established in 2019. In May 2021, Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei's Consumer BG (now Terminal BG), was appointed as the CEO of the Automotive BU, which includes several different business segments, including intelligent driving, intelligent networking, intelligent cockpit, intelligent vehicle lighting, intelligent vehicle control, intelligent electric, and intelligent vehicle cloud. Richard Yu currently serves as the chairman of Huawei's Automotive BU.

Huawei Automotive BU has three main business models:

The first is the standard parts model, which is to provide standardized parts such as motors and electronic controls to car companies.

The second is the Huawei HI model, which mainly involves in-depth cooperation with car manufacturers, technological iteration, and continuous upgrading of user experience in aspects such as smart driving and smart cockpit.

The third model is the smart car (Hongmeng Intelligent Driving) model, which is also the most popular model at present. Huawei can not only provide full-stack solutions for car companies, but also software operations, as well as the brand, channel, retail and marketing experience accumulated by Huawei's terminal business in the past decade of TO C transformation. Under this model, Huawei's current partners are Seres, Chery, BAIC, and JAC, and the cooperative brands of the two parties are Wenjie, Zhijie, Xiangjie, and Zunjie.
