Right now is the critical period for the prevention and control of rice diseases and pests. On July 15, the Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau of Zhenyuan County, Qiandongnan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, went to various villages in Yangping Town of the county to carry out drone pesticide spraying operations, using drones to spray pesticides on rice, laying the foundation for a bumper rice harvest this year.

In Longtang Village, Yangping Town, plant protection workers poured the prepared pesticides into the drone's pesticide box, set the speed, amount of pesticide sprayed and other parameters on the drone remote control, and started it with one click. The drone then flew steadily over the rice fields. In just one day, it completed the pesticide spraying of about 400 acres.

"In the past, it took a whole day to spray 4 acres of land, and the spraying was uneven. Now the government helps us spray pesticides with drones, and it only takes 10 minutes, and it doesn't cost any money. It's so convenient." Xu Guoshun, a villager in Longtang Village, said happily.

It is understood that the Zhenyuan County Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau used plant protection drones to spray pesticides on 2,000 acres of farmland planted by more than 200 farmers in the town. Compared with the traditional manual spraying mode, drone spraying of pesticides has the characteristics of fast speed, high efficiency, and scalable operation, which not only greatly reduces labor costs, but also improves the utilization rate of pesticides. At the same time, drones can also easily apply pesticides in special areas that are dense and easily damaged or cannot be sprayed manually, which helps farmers to do a good job in field management and ensure a bumper harvest of crops.
