the report is of a pilot nature and uses ten indicators and three dimensions to compare the overall performance of various economies in terms of business environment. among the ten indicators, the three with the highest scores for hong kong are "international trade" (90.77 points), "market access" (85.49 points) and "municipal public infrastructure services" (77.71 points). among the three dimensions, hong kong’s overall score in the “service efficiency” dimension is 78.52, ranking fifth.
a spokesman for the sar government said that the report affirmed hong kong's status as an international trade center, with simple and clear market access regulations, as well as stable and efficient public infrastructure and services. the report points out that hong kong has few restrictions on promoting international trade in services and has good practices in providing information and regulations related to company registration. the report fully demonstrates hong kong's role as a "super contact" and "super value-added person", a two-way gateway that "brings in" global companies and serves mainland companies to "go global".
the spokesman pointed out that recent reports issued by different international organizations have clearly affirmed hong kong's multi-faceted strength and competitiveness. in the "2024 world competitiveness annual report" released by the international institute of management development in june this year, hong kong ranked fifth in the world, ranked first in the world in the two sub-factors of "international trade" and "business regulations", and ranked first in "government efficiency". "this competitiveness factor is also ranked among the top three in the world. in the new "global financial center index" report released in september, hong kong's overall ranking rose to third in the world and first in the asia-pacific region. hong kong's ratings were in "business environment", "human capital" and "infrastructure" ” and “reputation and comprehensive” competitiveness are among the best.
