the non-pro models are also more expensive, with the iphone 16's bom being as high as $416, while the iphone 15's bom is $395, making each phone about $21 cheaper.

for the iphone 16 pro max, the most expensive parts are the display and rear camera module, which cost $80 each, accounting for 16% of the total price. the camera is also the most increased component over the previous generation, adding $10.
