at 5 pm on september 25, screenwriter, director, and former teacher at the central academy of drama wang jun died of illness at home at the age of 52.

wang jun was born in 1971. he graduated from the department of drama literature of the central academy of drama in 1995 and has been engaged in film and television teaching and creation for a long time.

among his screenwriting works, "the golden family" and "taiwan's first governor liu mingchuan" have great influence. he has also participated in a series of tv series such as "opening", "anti-drug pioneer", "the eve of the founding of the people's republic of china", "treasure hunt", "anti-drug elite", "plain clothes detachment" and "forged knife" in various capacities such as producer, screenwriter and director.

among them, "taiwan's first governor liu mingchuan" won the third prize for the long-form tv series at the 25th china tv drama feitian award in 2005.

wang jun was a warm and sincere person, and was very popular in the film and television circles. after his death, his relatives and friends were deeply saddened, and many film and television people posted condolences.

the elegiac couplet written for him by wang jun's 88th grade senior brothers and sisters is:

the four kingdoms' golden war and thousands of floating clouds are reliable. junior brother, the ancients are enthusiastic today, who can beat the fat man wang?

at the age of fifty-two, my ambition is in qianqiu, and i turn around and leave, unable to catch up. the great tragedy is only in jiachenqiu.

because he loved the four kingdoms military chess battle when he was in school, his weibo name was also "four kingdoms engineers". this is echoed in the elegiac couplet.

the following are condolences to all parties

lu haibo (professor of chinese opera): i received the bad news this morning. i can’t believe that my dear and talented student wang jun is gone. before the epidemic, we had gathered with the students of class 96 of cultural management of the department of theater and literature! our relationship is so deep. you are talented, and what is even more valuable is that you are sincere, upright, kind and enthusiastic. we all like you. your personality and your writing and directing works will make everyone remember you forever! i still remember that the ancient style articles you wrote were quite ancient and very exciting! it’s such a pity that you suddenly passed away in the prime of life at the age of 52! may you have a safe journey and rest in peace in heaven! i also hope that all your relatives and friends will express their condolences and take care of each other to comfort your soul in heaven.

guo xianchun (producer): i can’t believe that screenwriter wang jun is gone. we met in 2007, when i first became a producer and asked him to write the script for "anti-narcotics". during the writing period, we often got together to discuss the script and have a drink, and we became good brothers from then on. in 2010, he wrote the script for "drug elite" for me. both dramas are broadcast in prime time on cctv's eight channels. not long ago, at the director's annual meeting, we were in the same group and chatted a lot. we were very happy and even talked about collaborating on another film. goodbye, jun'er!

shu huan (screenwriter, director): when i first stayed in school, i lived in the same room with shi hang. later he moved out and the room became smelly due to our joint efforts. i decided to repaint it and went to andingmen to find workers. a bunch of people gathered around me. the one with painting tools stood out. as he approached the school gate, he asked for double the price. i told him to get out and knocked on wang jun's door. i told him what happened just now and he said i would do it. he got the tools from nowhere, i bought the paint, and we rolled up our sleeves and worked for a day. the work was terrible, and the house was streaked with white and gray, like an albino zebra, but we were very happy and took a special photo together. the two of us had white spots all over our faces and hugged each other. for many years to come, he will be as enthusiastic as that day. as long as you come to him for anything, he will definitely do it smoothly and exceed your expectations. we planned to have a 30th anniversary party three years ago. we put it off again and again, and finally decided to have a 30th anniversary party next year, but he left first.

goodbye lao wang, our hefei group will always be here. i will reserve a seat for you at next year’s party, so you have to come.

yu fei (screenwriter): farewell, teacher wang jun. i can’t remember the last time i saw you, but i can’t forget your appearance. we don't know each other that well, but you always have a smile on your face in my heart. you gave me a lot of support when i was bullied online, and i will always remember it in my heart. there is a lot of malice in this world, but a little kindness is enough for us to remember for a lifetime. it's a shame i didn't express my gratitude to you sooner. when you used your trumpet to discuss industry topics with me, you were afraid that i might accidentally offend you, so you secretly told me the name of your trumpet. in fact, you don't have to worry. even if we disagree, i will respect you and your opinions, and i will not forget your kindness. i will occasionally think of you when i see a friend you are more familiar with, and i always feel that there will be a chance to meet again. meetings are nothing more than chatting, complaining, and scolding annoying people. isn't that what happens between friends? bland, ordinary, this is real life and real friendship, but now these cannot be realized. before you go too far, let me tell you what i want to say. i hope you can still hear it.

wang hailin (screenwriter): wang jun is my senior brother and a good friend. he was the screenwriter of "the golden family" and "taiwan governor liu mingchuan". he was still posting on weibo yesterday morning when he died of a heart attack. he is a very warm-blooded and enthusiastic person. he was the president of the student union when he was in the chinese theater academy. he loves to make things happen and loves to help, but he never gets along with each other. he has a clear distinction between right and wrong, hates evil, and has a clear attitude on all issues related to the rights and interests of screenwriters. he always remembers me. on my birthday, i send private messages of congratulations every year. he is also the producer of my script "the barrel of a gun 1949". he was in xi'an in august (his wife is from xi'an). when he knew that i was going to xi'an, he invited me to dinner and said he would take me to eat. traveling all over xi'an, it's a pity that the time was not right, and i missed it forever... things are unpredictable, and it's very, very sad! sad!

song fangjin (screenwriter): i’m not familiar with teacher wang jun. i’ve only met him once or twice, and i don’t remember where we met. but i feel that i am very familiar with teacher wang jun, like an old friend who is as familiar as the past, and i can pick up the conversation at any time. this familiarity, on the one hand, comes from teacher wang jun’s unguarded voice and smile, and on the other hand, it may also come from weibo. the number of reposts on my weibo has always been very small. if there are reposts, the one that often jumps into my eyes is teacher wang jun’s weibo name “four kingdoms engineers”. this name made me feel that reinforcements were arriving, and i instantly felt as if there were four more forwards. now that the screenwriter shiguo engineer is gone, my weibo has lost one retweet, many people have lost one friend, and the world has lost one script. before life and death, the world is in name only. i only hope that there will be another shore, i only hope that teacher wang jun will be reborn in the pure land, and be free from suffering and find happiness.

wang jun’s creative philosophy

screenwriters should have their own preferences. to put it nicely, they should have aesthetic pursuits. if john woo-style movies are a kind of violent aesthetics, i prefer violent and tender aesthetics, and i like to show the love between children and children in a violent environment.

film and television dramas have a huge social impact and should shoulder corresponding social responsibilities. our creators should have such cultural awareness. to a certain extent, artists can also be regarded as intellectuals, and intellectuals have always been the conscience of society, so they have the responsibility to help young people understand good and evil as early as possible and establish the concept of right and wrong.

i don't think that all screenwriters are talented. i believe that grinding an iron pestle into a needle, rich accumulation and a positive learning attitude are the only ways for screenwriters to slowly mature.

tv dramas are essentially a story-telling industry. the screenwriter is the engineer who lays out all the blueprints. a tv drama script is a semi-finished product, and it needs to be re-created before it can be considered a finished product. in this transformation process, all the decision-making power should be in the hands of the screenwriter. i have never heard of a factory that wants to produce a product. after the designer designs it, he goes into the workshop and a workshop director can actually change it. the form of the product and its quality are unimaginable in other industries, and should not happen in the tv drama industry. all other links, including production, post-publicity, etc., should not change the form of a tv series. whether a tv series can be filmed well or not depends on the script. i've only heard of an 80-point script being shot at 60 points, but i've never heard of a 60-point script being shot at 80 points. this is a general knowledge.

the decisive position of scripts in tv drama production cannot be shaken by capital, nor is it an undecided topic that can be discussed. the scriptwriting robot can only make a kfc mcdonald's, but it will never make a man-han banquet. audiences have different tastes, and they are not static. only true craftsmen can get the right balance of sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, and salty.

i am actually a very lucky screenwriter. i have been practicing writing since i graduated. i am not a screenwriter with a high output, because i am a libra and a pig, so i am relatively lazy. i don’t have much pressure in life, so i have no idea of working hard to make a lot of money.

interestingly, i only have two or three dramas that have not been on cctv. the other dramas are all broadcast during prime time on cctv 1 or 8, such as "the golden family", "taiwan's first governor liu mingchuan" and "anti-narcotics pioneer" wait, this is weird.

when i say this, i want to express that i am indeed a lucky screenwriter. none of the works were stillborn, and those that were filmed have all been broadcast. i have always had an idea, that is, i hope to create a large work that i am satisfied with. of course, this is the dream of almost every creator. it is difficult to say how many people have realized their dream. the material is already being prepared, and i hope to shoot it myself.
