on the morning of the 28th, an insider, mr. wang (surname changed), told a jimu news reporter that after learning the news on the evening of september 24th, he immediately rushed back to golmud city from other provinces to help relatives and friends deal with the matter. he met grandpa liu (surname changed) who was undergoing treatment at the hospital and learned what happened.

according to mr. wang, on the evening of the 24th, grandpa liu suddenly fainted while using the toilet in his own bathroom and was rushed to the hospital by his son. while in the hospital, grandpa liu's son received a call from his family and learned that his grandma had fainted, so he immediately rushed home to save her. after that, grandpa liu's wife, son, daughter-in-law, daughter, and granddaughter fainted one after another. "one person fainted, and another person went into the house to save people, but one of them fainted after entering." then, people outside the house smelled a sting. they pinched their noses, held their breaths, and ran into the house to carry out the five people who had fainted. they called 120 and immediately sent them to the hospital for treatment. in the end, except grandpa liu, the other five relatives died unfortunately.

the incident described by another insider, ms. liu, was basically consistent with mr. wang’s account. ms. liu told reporters that she was grandpa liu's niece and rushed home after the incident to deal with the matter. she said that her father was holding his breath and entered the house to carry someone else, and she felt dizzy afterwards.

ms. liu later learned that a pungent smell could be smelled dozens of meters away from grandpa liu’s house at the time of the incident. it was initially suspected that the toxic gas spread from the toilet to the house through the sewer. the relevant local departments have not yet determined what kind of gas it is. at present, the roads near yanqiao village have been closed and controlled, and the villagers have been transferred to other places.
