according to information from the national bureau of statistics, this year, the national bureau of statistics will jointly carry out a survey on the development status of strategic emerging industry integration clusters with the national development and reform commission, and conduct a comprehensive "physical examination" and "portrait" of 66 national-level strategic emerging industry clusters.

in 2019, the national development and reform commission announced the first batch of 66 national strategic emerging industry clusters. in recent years, the development of my country's strategic emerging industries has shown the characteristics of rapid increase in the number of enterprises, continuous expansion of industrial scale, continuous enrichment of application scenarios, and continuous evolution of industrial integration.

on march 12 this year, foshan daily published a research report titled "research on foshan's path to promote the development of strategic emerging industry integration clusters". foshan's total industrial output value in 2023 exceeded 3 trillion yuan, ranking fourth in the country, but in terms of the development of strategic emerging industry clusters, it still faces challenges such as the need to improve the degree of industrial agglomeration, urgently need to solve industrial financing constraints, need to deepen the construction of innovation capabilities, and need to strengthen the gathering of high-end talents.

although foshan is not among the first batch of national strategic emerging industry clusters, in a sense, the challenges faced by foshan in this regard also have certain common characteristics. overcoming these challenges is also an important path to promote the development of strategic emerging industry clusters.

the first is to continuously enhance innovation capabilities, which is the foundation for the development of strategic emerging industry clusters.

strategic emerging industries include new generation information technology, artificial intelligence, aerospace, new energy, new materials, high-end equipment, biomedicine, etc., all of which are based on scientific research innovation and industrialization in core areas. on the one hand, we should aim at the forefront of scientific research, including providing all kinds of support for these scientific research activities with "first come, first served" so that advanced scientific research results can be used first; on the other hand, we should give full play to the r&d advantages of leading enterprises, which can not only achieve breakthroughs in technology, but also quickly form industrial scale and cluster advantages.
