there are 11 test sites in guangzhou test area, distributed in 5 districts, namely yuexiu, haizhu, tianhe, baiyun and panyu, including dongfeng road campus of guangdong university of technology, guangdong university of finance and economics, private hualian college, east campus of guangdong lingnan modern technician college, south campus of guangdong lingnan modern technician college, kingfa science park test center, guangdong best test center, guangdong vocational college of science and technology, guangdong liren computer test center, guangdong kaoshitong computer test center and university town campus of guangdong university of technology. the test will be divided into two batches, with 184 formal test rooms in the first batch and 185 formal test rooms in the second batch (separate test rooms for visually impaired candidates), and 15 spare test rooms and more than 1,800 spare seats will be set up for each batch of tests as required. according to statistics, this year, the oldest candidate in the guangzhou examination area was 73 years old, the youngest was 19 years old, and the average age was 30 years old.
dialogue with 73-year-old candidate zhu bingcai:
“if i don’t make it this year, i’ll come again next year.”
reporter: what kind of services do you think are heartwarming in the guangzhou test area this time?
zhu bingcai: what impressed me most was that there was a rest room here at noon, where you can rest. it would be very troublesome to sit outside on the street at noon. i saw many candidates also have a place to sit here. this is very humane.
reporter: which year did you take the exam? as the oldest candidate in the guangzhou examination area, how did you overcome personal difficulties and take the bar exam?
zhu bingcai: i am an ordinary citizen. i abide by the law and i need to continue to learn the law. because i know that the law is revised every year and there are new laws every year. if i don't take this exam, i won't know the latest laws.
reporter: what is the first year you take the exam? if you fail this year, will you take it again?
zhu bingcai: i have forgotten which year it was. i have taken the exam for several years. maybe i haven’t learned enough, but i think i still have a chance. if i don’t pass this year, i will come again next year. as long as i can take the exam, i will come again.
reporter: what force has driven you to persist in taking the bar exam for so many years? what kind of confidence and expectations do you have for the construction of the rule of law?
zhu bingcai: i think a country can only be permanently prosperous if it implements the rule of law. a society ruled by law cannot be achieved overnight, because the country is too big and the population is too large, so it will take time to achieve this goal. as a citizen, i hope to do my part, and my son is also working hard to study law.
reporter: if you pass the bar exam in the future, what are your plans?
zhu bingcai: if i can pass the exam, i will definitely find a platform where i can continue to work. although i am over 70, i am not old at all. university professors can work until they are over 90 and continue to teach, so i should work harder in my 70s.
